Improve gear after a run
Finding a usable item is only part of building a setup. The sequel has twelve combat equipment slots, up from six in its predecessor, and separates armor into helmet, chestplate, leggings, and boots. Talismans provide passive bonuses, and random effects mean two items of the same type may differ. Turn Enchantment Books into build options
An Enchantment Book contains an enchantment and adds it to your personal library. At the Enchantsmith, you can apply a library enchantment to a chosen gear slot and upgrade enchantments over time. Spend Echo Shards on upgrades
Echo Shards are used to upgrade Merchants, Blacksmiths, and equipment. Their value therefore extends beyond collecting another drop: they feed into the systems that improve your wider setup.
