Check its rating and details before launching; if playing with friends, set who can join in Island Options.
Find a horror island by name or code

Launch Fortnite and open Play. In Discover, scroll to Search or select the Search icon to open the search bar. The layout can change between updates. Epic’s island search instructions explain how to find an island, map, or custom match.

Enter the island’s title or island code. Epic also lists a creator code or custom key as possible search terms. Use the exact title or code when you already know which map you want.

Select the matching result to open its island details. Review the displayed rating, content descriptors, premise, and any player or party information before choosing to play.

Choose Select to return to the lobby, then Play to launch the island.
For example, Epic’s listing for BACKROOMS SURVIVAL HORROR identifies it as a UEFN horror map and gives the island code 3968-9634-6688. Search by that title or code, then check the live listing and its displayed rating. This example does not guarantee that the map is featured or available in every region.

Browse for horror maps without a code
Open Discover’s search and category browser, then explore the categories and rows currently available. Their contents change, so a Horror category or a particular island may not always appear. When a map catches your eye, open its detail page to check its description and rating rather than relying on its placement in a row.
Check ratings and control who can join
Island detail pages show region-specific age ratings, content descriptors, and information about interactive elements. Read the rating and descriptors shown for your region before entering; an island’s theme alone does not establish whether it is suitable for you.

If you are playing with others, use Island Options to choose public play or play only with members of your party. Set this before launching if you want to limit who can join.
Why a published map may not appear in Discover
Publication and featuring are different: a published island can be listed on its creator’s page and eligible for Discover without appearing in a featured row. Approved islands move into and out of Discover, according to Epic’s guidance on published islands missing from Discovery and explanation of how Discover works.

Search the exact island title or code instead of relying on featured placement.

If it still does not appear, check the spelling and code against the creator’s page or official island listing, and confirm the island is currently available.

A searchable island code can be a more dependable way to return to a known map than looking for it in a featured row.

Use the heart or favorite control on an island to save it. Favorites and recently played islands are available from the Library, making it easier to find a map again.
For lost progress or technical problems with a custom map made by another creator, Epic says its general support does not handle those issues. Find the map’s creator and contact them; community forums may help if the creator does not offer support. See Epic’s Fortnite Custom Maps Support page.
