In the game state covered by the available guides, Storm Leather was not obtainable through ordinary survival or Adventure Mode progression. A January 2026 guide describes a Creative Mode workaround: grant yourself admin permissions, add the item through the Creative inventory, then return to Exploration Mode. Those controls and availability may have changed, so check your current build before relying on them.
Can you get Storm Leather in survival mode?
Storm Leather is associated with high-tier Mithril crafting, but guides covering the reported game state say Storm Hide and Storm Leather could not be acquired through normal survival play. No official developer update confirming current availability was identified, so treat that as a version-specific report rather than a guarantee about every current build. If you are playing without Creative Mode, check the current game’s crafting and item interfaces for changes.
How to add Storm Leather in Creative Mode
A guide published January 22, 2026 by 17173 describes this workaround. It is a third-party account, not an official or currently verified procedure; commands, controls, and menus may differ in your build.
- Open the console with / and enter
op selfto grant yourself administrator permissions. - Press O to switch to Creative Mode.
- Press B to open the Creative item menu. Search for Storm Leather or look in the ingredients materials category, then add it to your inventory.
- Press O again to return to Exploration Mode.
If a control or command does not work, do not assume the item is available through survival progression; the guide may describe an earlier game build.

What Storm Leather is used for
Storm Leather is listed as an ingredient for Mithril equipment and the final backpack upgrade. A secondary item database says it is refined from Storm Hide at a Tanning Rack. That recipe path is not evidence that Storm Hide can currently be found in ordinary survival play.

Hytale Guide Wiki lists 13 recipes and gives these examples. They are database snapshots, not confirmed current-build requirements; use the crafting interface in your game as the authority.
