Andraste’s cargo is not at the shipwreck: it is inside Castaway Cave, reached from a small landing on the northern side of the rocky formation by the All-Mother’s Temple. In The Last Voyage, investigate the wreck at Smuggler’s Bay, read Captain Lex’s diary, then swim around the temple rock to find the cave.
Start The Last Voyage and question Elaine
-
Speak with Elaine at Ron’s Tavern in the village and accept The Last Voyage.
-
Read the book she gives you, then speak with her again. A quest-wiki search result reports these answers to her questions: “Figurine of a Fore-Dweller,” “Island Asylum,” and “sea monster.” The detailed walkthrough confirms the quest start but does not independently confirm this quiz sequence, so if the dialogue differs in your game, continue with the quest prompts you have.
Ask Rhydderic where to find the ship
Go to the museum in the keep’s Captain’s Quarters and speak with Rhydderic about the ship. His information advances the investigation and points you toward Smuggler’s Bay. The walkthrough’s route is to travel from the Archspire past the Ruined Broch and south to the bay.

Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Is a sea-monster fight required?
Do not treat a Scourge of the Seas fight as a guaranteed requirement. A secondary walkthrough describes an encounter before the cargo chamber, while Steam community reports conflict about whether the fight is part of the quest. The available accounts do not establish that it is mandatory on every platform or game version. If an encounter appears on your route, deal with it to proceed; if it does not, continue into the cave.
