To find Distressed Spirit Bashe in Diablo 4, speak with Nunir in Upper Kurast, Nahantu, then follow The Keening Spirit quest marker to the search area south of Kurast Bazaar. Find Bashe there, defeat the Spirit-Gorged Hollow when it appears, and speak with Bashe to continue.
Start The Keening Spirit with Nunir
Travel to Upper Kurast in Nahantu and talk to Nunir to accept The Keening Spirit. He is located in the southern corner of Kurast Bazaar, according to the quest walkthroughs.

Follow the quest marker to Bashe
Track the quest and follow its marker to the indicated search area south of Kurast Bazaar. Bashe is in that area, rather than standing beside Nunir. Search within the marked zone if the spirit is not immediately visible; the available walkthroughs do not provide exact coordinates.
Complete the encounter
- Find Distressed Spirit Bashe in the marked search area.
- When the encounter begins, defeat the Spirit-Gorged Hollow.
- Speak with Bashe afterward to progress the quest.
If Bashe does not appear
Blizzard’s patch notes recorded a fix for an issue in which the Banshee spirit did not appear during The Keening Spirit: Diablo IV patch notes. The notes establish that this was a historical spawn problem and that Blizzard fixed it at that time; they do not confirm whether the issue can recur in the current live game.

- Light Bearer Mount in Diablo IV
- Only one code per customer
- Diablo IV is the next-gen action RPG experience with endless evil to slaughter, countless abilities to master, nightmarish Dungeons, and legendary loot.
- Embark on the campaign solo or with friends, meeting memorable characters through beautifully dark settings and a gripping story, or explore an expansive end game and shared world where players can meet in towns to trade, team up to battle World Bosses, or descend into PVP zones to test their skills against other players - no lobbies necessary - with cross-play and cross-progression on all available platforms.
A player report from October 2024 described the spirit missing, with mixed results after patch 2.0.3: Blizzard forum report. That report is historical, not evidence that the quest is currently broken. If Bashe is absent, check that the quest is active and that you are searching the marked area before concluding the spawn issue has returned.
