Fallen Village has two documented keys tied to its Marketplace routes. The Weathered Key is outside the Marketplace house with the empty crib and opens a house across the river; the Storage Key is underground behind the Marketplace house and opens the door leading to a plague-wall weak point. The Fields route adds the Scarecrow side quest, its two evidence items, and two useful nearby pickups.
Fallen Village key locations at a glance
Use the lantern names as your navigation checkpoints. The Weathered Key and Storage Key are both reached from Fallen Village > Marketplace, while the Scarecrow quest begins at Fallen Village > Fields.

The two keys serve different purposes. The Weathered Key opens an optional quest house so you can retrieve the Toy for Lullaby. The Storage Key opens the route needed to deal with the plague wall, so it is the key that advances that obstacle.

Fallen Village is easier to navigate by lantern label than by trying to memorize every building. Start from the Marketplace lantern when following either key route. The empty-crib house is your reference point for the Weathered Key, and the ladder behind the Marketplace house is your reference point for the Storage Key.

For the Fields content, travel to the Fields lantern before beginning the Scarecrow sweep. The quest sends you between a scarecrow post, a large tree, a house on a rise, and a barn. Those fixed landmarks are more reliable than enemy placement, which can make an area feel different after a fight.
The documented walkthrough covers 89 collectible locations, 20 side quests, and 10 regions across the game. Those figures describe the complete game guide, not the number of collectibles or quests contained only in Fallen Village.
Weathered Key: the house across the river
The Weathered Key route begins with Lullaby. You do not find the key inside the crib house; the pickup is outside, by the enemies near its rear exit. Follow these steps in order.
1. Start Lullaby at the empty crib
- Travel to Fallen Village > Marketplace.
- Enter the house with the empty crib from the Marketplace side.
- Approach and interact with the empty crib. This starts Lullaby and establishes the house as your return point.
If the quest has not started, make sure you interacted with the crib itself rather than simply entering the room. The crib is the trigger for this sequence.
2. Pick up the Weathered Key outside
- Leave the house through its back door.
- Look around the enemies outside. The Weathered Key is on the ground near them.
- Collect it before leaving the area. The pickup is outdoors, not on furniture inside the house.
The enemy group is a useful orientation cue: once you are outside the rear of the crib house, search the ground in that immediate vicinity for the key.

3. Reach the locked house across the river
- Head back toward the Marketplace lantern.
- Follow the path toward the previous area.
- When you pass the Volunteer, turn right.
- Continue to the end of that path.
- Jump across the river to reach the isolated house.
- Interact with the house door and use the Weathered Key.
The river jump is the route’s decisive landmark. If you find yourself searching Marketplace buildings for a second entrance, return to the Volunteer, take the right-hand path, and continue until the crossing comes into view.
4. Retrieve the Toy
After the Weathered Key opens the house, go inside and pick up the Toy from the bed. The Toy is the item that resolves the objective created when you examined the empty crib.
5. Finish Lullaby
- Leave the river house and retrace the path to the Marketplace.
- Re-enter the house with the empty crib.
- Interact with the crib and place the Toy.
Completing Lullaby awards Tomorrow’s Promise Amber. The key therefore has a complete loop: crib, rear exit, river house, Toy, and crib again.
Storage Key: the underground route to the plague wall
The Storage Key is close to the Marketplace buildings but is hidden below ground. This route is separate from the river-house objective even though both begin in the Marketplace area.
1. Use the rear exit of the Marketplace house
- From the Marketplace, enter the house used for the Storage Key route.
- Go out through the back of the house.
- Find the ladder leading down into the underground area and climb down.
The ladder is the transition point. If you remain on the surface, you will not reach the Storage Key; the key is not placed beside the Weathered Key or near the river.

2. Find the key on the underground box
- Once underground, follow the passage around the corner.
- Use the two enemies in the area as your landmark.
- Look for the Storage Key on a box near them.
- Pick it up, then continue to the nearby locked door.
The box and the enemies are close together, so search the immediate corner rather than the entire underground section. The key is a physical pickup on top of the box.

3. Open the door and clear the weak point
- Use the Storage Key on the nearby door.
- Follow the newly opened route toward the plague wall.
- Reach the wall’s weak point and attack or interact with it as the encounter requires to clear the obstruction.
The Storage Key does not open the river house and does not produce a Toy. Its purpose is to give you access to the weak point, so once the door opens, keep moving through that route instead of returning to the crib house.
Fields sweep: complete The Scarecrow
The Fields objective is a side quest rather than another key hunt. It has two required items, a barn finale, and an Amber reward. Begin from the Fallen Village > Fields lantern.
1. Start The Scarecrow
- From the Fields lantern, follow the paths toward the field.
- Take the road on the right.
- Find the body strapped to the scarecrow post.
- Interact with the body to start The Scarecrow.
The strapped body is the quest interaction. Merely passing the scarecrow or examining nearby scenery does not begin the objective.
2. Collect the Lover’s Pendant
- Move toward the barn area.
- Take the right-hand path to the large tree.
- Search the base of the tree for the body.
- Collect the Lover’s Pendant.
The large tree is the route’s anchor. If you reach the barn first, backtrack to the right-hand path and use the tree as the reference point for the pendant location.

3. Collect the Letter with a Drawing
- Continue past the tall haystacks.
- Pass the four human enemies in this stretch.
- Enter the house up the hill on the left.
- Go to the top floor.
- Take the Letter with a Drawing from the table.
The letter is upstairs, so checking the ground floor alone will not complete the item portion of the quest. The haystacks, enemy group, and uphill house provide the intended sequence of landmarks.
4. Return both items to the scarecrow
- Return to the scarecrow post where you started the quest.
- Give the scarecrow the Lover’s Pendant.
- Give it the Letter with a Drawing.
Both items are required before the quest advances to its final location. Keep the scarecrow post as your return marker while collecting the pendant and letter.
5. Finish the barn objective
- Proceed to the next field.
- Enter the barn containing exploding bodies.
- Climb to the barn’s top level.
- Interact with the two pillows.
Interacting with the pillows completes The Scarecrow. The reward is Bountiful Harvest Amber.
6. Pick up the nearby optional rewards during the same sweep
- Amber #11: Volatile End: look for the chest behind the exploding bodies in the barn.
- Blunderbuss: search near the Volunteer while progressing through the Fields route.
These pickups are not substitutes for the pendant, letter, or pillow interactions. They are efficient additions to the same barn-and-carriage-area sweep, especially if you are working toward a complete collectible run.
A practical order for clearing the village
For the least unnecessary movement, use the Marketplace lantern as your first checkpoint. Start Lullaby, leave through the rear door, take the Weathered Key, and make the river crossing while the route is fresh. Retrieve the Toy and return to the crib before switching objectives. This keeps the quest’s return trip tied to a single landmark instead of leaving the Toy in your inventory while you explore unrelated paths.

Next, use the same Marketplace area for the underground route. Take the rear ladder, collect the Storage Key from the box near the two enemies, and open the nearby door. Continue to the plague-wall weak point while you are already underground rather than climbing back out and searching for a second entrance later.
Finish with the Fields lantern. The Scarecrow quest naturally forms a loop through the scarecrow post, large tree, uphill house, and exploding-bodies barn. Collect the pendant and letter before returning to the post, then finish the pillows objective and check the chest and Volunteer area for the additional rewards.
Can you return for a missed key?
Yes. The complete walkthrough states that required items are not missable and that previously visited areas remain accessible, including after the final boss. You can therefore postpone cleanup and revisit Fallen Village instead of restarting your game because you passed the Weathered Key, Storage Key, or a Scarecrow item.

When returning later, select the relevant lantern label: Fallen Village > Marketplace for either key and Fallen Village > Fields for the Scarecrow route. The documented return access also makes it safe to finish the optional Toy objective or collect the Fields rewards after progressing farther into the story.
Quick troubleshooting by symptom
The Weathered Key is not in the crib house
Leave through the back door and inspect the ground near the enemies outside. The key is placed in that exterior area. Once collected, follow the path toward the previous area, turn right after the Volunteer, and use the river jump to reach the locked house.
The river house door still seems inaccessible
Verify that you are at the house across the river, not another Marketplace building. The correct route begins by returning toward the lantern, turning right after the Volunteer, and continuing to the path’s end before jumping.
The Storage Key route has gone nowhere
Return to the Marketplace house and use its rear ladder. Underground, go around the corner toward the two enemies and search the box. The Storage Key is then used on the nearby door, not on the river house.

Check that you interacted with the strapped body at the scarecrow post, collected the Lover’s Pendant at the large tree, and taken the Letter with a Drawing from the upstairs table in the uphill house. After handing over both items, enter the barn in the next field and interact with the two pillows on the top level.
