To find Imai Sokyu during Searching Sakai, look for a roadside house in Sakai between the Money Changer District and the Firearm District. Use Observation or aim mode to scan for the blue quest marker, then enter the marked house; the encounter continues with a conversation with his son, Imai Sokun.
Where to look for Imai Sokyu
Search the area around the Money Changer and Firearm districts. Guides describe the house as southwest of Sakai, between those districts, or near the town center. Because those broad descriptions do not line up exactly, use the district landmarks to narrow the search and the blue marker to confirm the location. GameSpot and Prima Games both point players toward this area.
Find the house using the quest marker
- Go to the Firearm District kakurega and leave through its front door.
- Turn left, then take the next left onto the main road.
- Continue until you see a cart and a wooded area on the left. Turn right toward Sokyu’s house.
- Use Observation or aim mode to look for the blue quest marker. The control described by Prima Games is the left trigger or L2.
- Open the roadside house’s sliding door and go inside. The marker may update when you enter.
This route is described by PC Gamer. If you are already near the Money Changer District, scanning the surrounding roads for the marker may be quicker than returning to the kakurega.
What happens when you enter
The encounter advances through dialogue with Imai Sokun, Imai Sokyu’s son. Speaking with him continues Searching Sakai and leads into The Tea Ceremony questline, as PC Gamer reports. The encounter is part of the Golden Teppo storyline, which moves toward confronting the Golden Teppo.

If the marker or character is missing
First, make sure you are searching the Firearm and Money Changer district area, then scan nearby roads with Observation or aim mode and check the marked house’s interior. PC Gamer noted that Sokyu appeared after sunrise in its playthrough, but cautioned that the timing could have been coincidence. If the marker or NPC is absent, trying again during daytime is an optional troubleshooting step—not a confirmed spawn requirement.
