To solve the Haunted Well puzzle in Disney Dreamlight Valley’s 2025 Trick-or-Treat event, open the red chest in the Plaza, collect the Memory Shard, then deposit 15 Green Candy, 10 Red Candy and five Purple Candy into the Haunted Well in the Forest of Valor—in that order.
Find the clue in the Plaza
- Search the Plaza for the event’s red chest. Its exact position is not specified in the walkthroughs.
- Open the chest and collect the Memory Shard it releases. Inspect the shard for the puzzle clue. Destructoid and Dexerto both describe this chest-and-shard route in their October 2025 guides: Destructoid’s Haunted Well walkthrough and Dexerto’s Haunted Well guide.
Locate the Haunted Well
Look for the Haunted Well in the Forest of Valor. Its specific spawn position can vary, so search around the biome rather than relying on one fixed map location. Daps Magic’s coverage of the 2025 event says the Forest of Valor must be unlocked for the chest to appear; this is event-specific guidance and does not establish how a future version of the event would work: Daps Magic’s 2025 event coverage.

Deposit the candy in the required order
Interact with the Haunted Well and add each color’s full amount before moving to the next:
- 15 Green Candy
- 10 Red Candy
- 5 Purple Candy
The quantities and sequence are reported by Destructoid and Dexerto, and are also listed in the event history on the Dreamlight Valley Wiki’s Trick-or-Treat page. Once you have entered all three amounts in order, the puzzle is complete.
