To find Malcolm in Dragon’s Dogma 2, help Kendrick outside The Gracious Hand in Vernworth’s Slums. Give him food and 1,000 Gold, question three children around the building, then return to Kendrick and follow him into the vaults. Malcolm is deeper inside and leads you to the underground library.
Start The Heel of History with Kendrick
Look for Kendrick outside The Gracious Hand in Vernworth’s Slums. He—not Malcolm—is the quest giver for The Heel of History. To get his request for help, donate both food and 1,000 Gold. The walkthroughs by Windows Central and PowerPyx agree on this sequence.

Ask three children about Malcolm
Speak to three children around The Gracious Hand. If you are having trouble finding them, PowerPyx identifies these landmarks:
- Across from The Gracious Hand, near some rubble.
- On a lookout platform east of the building.
- Inside the building’s lobby.
Once you have spoken with all three, return to Kendrick.

Follow Kendrick into the vaults
Kendrick leads you to a ruined tower and opens the rubble-blocked entrance. Follow the underground passage to find Malcolm. The route is described as straightforward; expect small spiders and bats along the way, as noted by Windows Central.

When you find Malcolm, follow him farther into the underground area. He leads you to an archive or library beneath The Gracious Hand. Discovering it advances the related objective in The Caged Magistrate: Waldhar is looking for a place with plenty of tomes. PC Gamer’s guide covers that objective.
