When to check before kickoff
The NFL’s Countdown to Kickoff guidance places the officiating meeting 90 minutes before kickoff. At that meeting, club public-relations representatives deliver a Game Day Administration Report that includes each club’s inactive list.
Use the scheduled kickoff as your reference point: check around the 90-minute mark, then refresh the league page if the report has not appeared. A blank page before then does not establish who will be inactive.

Tell weekly injury reports apart from game-day inactives
Weekly practice participation and game-status designations provide context about a player’s availability, but they are not the submitted game-day inactive list. The NFL’s injury report policy distinguishes these reporting types. A “Questionable” or “Doubtful” designation is not confirmation that the player is inactive.
What to do if the NFL page has not updated
- Check the game details. Match the teams, date, and kickoff time to the game you are following.
- Look for the team’s official communication. NFL policy describes club communication duties for relevant late developments before the 90-minute meeting, but no particular platform or alert method is guaranteed by the sources cited here.
