How to Find Steam Frame Verified Games in Your Library

Steam Frame compatibility results are visible while browsing Steam library and store titles, but Valve’s documentation does not specify a dedicated library filter or menu path. Here’s how to interpret the four badges and distinguish standalone play from streaming.

Valve says published Steam Frame compatibility results are visible when you browse games in your Steam library or the Steam store. Its published documentation does not specify an exact library-filter path or confirm a dedicated “Steam Frame Verified” filter, so there is no documented menu sequence to give confidently. Check the compatibility status shown for each game in the current Steam client; do not assume that a SteamOS or Linux filter is the same thing.

Where to look for Steam Frame compatibility

Open your Steam library and browse your games for the compatibility information Valve displays. You can also browse the Steam store, where Valve says published results are visible. Valve’s documentation does not identify the current client controls, filter names, or a precise sequence for narrowing the library to Steam Frame results. If you do not see a Frame status or filter in your client, the available official documentation does not provide an alternate menu path.

Steam Support documents a Steam Store operating-system filter called “SteamOS + Linux” for finding Linux-compatible results. That filter is not documented as a Steam Frame Standalone Verified filter, and the two should not be treated as equivalent. See Steam Support’s platform-filter guidance.

What the four Steam Frame badges mean

Steam Frame Standalone compatibility reviews concern games running locally on the headset. Valve says the review process does not apply to games running on a PC and streamed to Frame. The badges therefore describe standalone suitability, not whether a game can be streamed from another computer.

Badge What it tells you
Verified The game passes all compatibility checks without configuration work.
Playable The game works, but may require manual user work.
Unsupported The game fails because of Proton or a specific hardware incompatibility.
Unknown The review is incomplete, so compatibility information is unavailable.

These definitions come from Valve’s Steam Frame Standalone Compatibility Review Process. A missing or Unknown result is not the same as a Verified result.

Why Windows or Android games may run—and still need a review

Steam Frame is a SteamOS PC built around an Arm64 Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 platform. Valve documents Proton for Windows games, Lepton for Android games, and FEX for x86 games. These compatibility layers provide ways for software to execute; they do not establish that every title will work well as a standalone game on the headset. Valve’s overview of what games can run standalone on Steam Frame explains the execution paths.

Valve’s review criteria include performance thresholds: at least 30 fps at 1280×720 for 2D titles and 72 fps at 1728×1728 for VR titles under its normal-play criteria. Reviews also consider physical controls, controller glyphs, legible interface text, and launchers. These are Valve’s review thresholds, not a guarantee of identical performance in every user’s circumstances. The criteria are described in the review-process documentation.

Does an Unsupported rating remove a game from Frame?

No. Valve says the compatibility result affects how a game is presented, not whether it remains available to Frame customers: “The results of a compatibility review will not affect whether your game is available to customers on Frame, but will affect how it is presented.” A rating is guidance about the reviewed standalone experience, not a store-availability decision.

A practical way to narrow your owned games

  1. Browse your Steam library. Look for the published Steam Frame compatibility result alongside the game information available in the current client.
  2. Separate the labels. Use Verified for titles that passed without configuration work; treat Playable as requiring possible manual setup, and Unknown as not yet reviewed sufficiently.
  3. Do not substitute the Linux filter. “SteamOS + Linux” can help find Linux-compatible store titles, but Valve does not define it as a Frame standalone rating.
  4. Keep streaming separate. If you intend to run a game on your PC and stream it to the headset, the standalone badge is not the test for that use.

Valve has not stated a current total or percentage of Steam Frame Verified games in the official materials cited here, so a precise library-wide count cannot be given.
