To reach the Fadefields Vault in Borderlands 4, collect three key fragments in The Howl, Idolator’s Noose, and Coastal Bonescape, then travel to the Arch of Inceptus in Dissected Plateau. Inside, clear the enemy sections and use your grapple and glide pack to avoid Primordial Guardian Inceptus’s attacks and reach its weak points.
How to unlock the Fadefields Vault
The Fadefields Vault, also called the Vault of Inceptus, requires three key fragments found across the Fadefields region. Activating Silos in The Howl, Coastal Bonescape, and Dissected Plateau helps pinpoint the areas where fragments can be found. Follow the regional clues below to collect them.

Head northeast of The Launchpad and climb the rocks to reach a small cave. The fragment is inside.
Idolator’s Noose
Travel southeast from Someday Rise Safehouse. Use your grapple to reach the room containing the fragment.

Coastal Bonescape
Go to Stillshore on the southwest side of the region. From Abandoned Post Safehouse, head southwest and follow the northwest corridor. Turn left, then glide into a small corridor behind a house; the fragment is on a box.
Where to find the Fadefields Vault entrance
Once you have all three fragments, go to Dissected Plateau and look for the remains of the Arch of Inceptus. The entrance and fragment console are at the highest area southwest of the Zadra’s Backup Plan fast travel station. What to expect inside the Vault
The Vault has several combat sections. Defeat the enemies in each area to open the way forward. Vending machines between sections let you replenish ammunition and sell loot, so use them before moving on if you need supplies.
How to beat Primordial Guardian Inceptus
Inceptus’s attacks are telegraphed, so keep moving and watch for cues before committing to an attack. The encounter relies on both the grapple and glide pack; use them to reposition and stay clear of hazards. Specific timing and behavior can vary with game updates, and the available guides do not identify an exact game build.

Dodge the tail sweeps
When Inceptus winds up a tail sweep, move laterally out of the targeted area or jump and glide over it. Avoid staying in one spot long enough to be caught by the sweep.
Grapple to reach weak points
PC Gamer’s Fadefields Vault boss guide describes grappling Inceptus to expose pustules that can be shot for critical damage. Follow the grapple opportunity when it appears, then aim at the exposed targets.

Stay mobile during the cocoon phase
In the ceiling-cocoon phase, toxins cover the floor and explosives fall into the arena. The PC Gamer guide recommends dodging side attacks and grappling around the arena. Keep off the hazardous floor and use the grapple to move between safer positions.

The walkthrough reports that completing the Vault rewards cash, Eridium, and a glide-pack upgrade that reduces regeneration time. It also says the boss can be fought again like other bosses. For one level-34 run, the walkthrough gives a re-entry cost of $27,200; that is a source-specific example, not a guaranteed price for every character or current game version.
