Two Garbage locations are verified in the available guide for S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl: a southern riverbank stash containing an M860 Monolith shotgun and a stash north of Slag Heap containing a Tourist Suit. Both are Journalist Stashes—not a complete inventory of every ordinary, quest, or named stash in Garbage.
Unlock Journalist Stash markers first
In GameSpot’s Journalist Stash guide, the sequence begins after “A Needle in a Haystack,” the quest in which you give Ward Sensors to Richter or Captain Zotov. Then inspect your personal stash and take the Journalist’s Flash Drive. A message plays, and Journalist Stash locations appear on the world map.

Garbage Journalist Stash locations
Southern riverbank: M860 Monolith
Go to the riverbank in the southern part of Garbage and look for an old bus. The stash crate is there; its reward is an M860 Monolith shotgun. GameSpot identifies it as Journalist Stash #4.
North of Slag Heap: Tourist Suit
Head north from Slag Heap toward the junkyard. Climb over the derelict vehicles to reach the container holding the Tourist Suit. GameSpot identifies this as Journalist Stash #5.

Getting to the containers
Some Journalist Stash containers require climbing onto objects or structures. Keep enough stamina for jumps, and avoid carrying so much that movement is impaired. GameSpot also notes that weapon stash rewards come with ammunition.
Does this list include every Garbage stash?
No. The two routes above cover Journalist Stashes #4 and #5 only. They do not establish the locations of every ordinary, quest, or named stash in the region, so this is not an exhaustive Garbage checklist.

Map resources can help with broader searching, but check what their pins cover before treating them as a complete regional inventory. Shackmaps’ interactive map includes stash and other item pins; its map-wide pin total does not establish a Garbage-specific stash count.
