Quick wins for a faster PC:
Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →First identify the exact Rematch model and whether it is wired or wireless: “Rematch” covers controllers for different consoles, and the connection steps are not interchangeable. For the wireless Nintendo Switch model, reconnect through Controllers > Change Grip/Order; for wired models, check that the controller is intended for your console and connected as specified.
Check which Rematch controller you have
Before troubleshooting, compare the model name, console, and connection type. Turtle Beach sells Rematch controllers for Switch, Switch 2, Xbox, and PC; some are wireless and others are wired. A Switch wireless pairing procedure will not fix a wired controller or an Xbox/PC model.

| Model | Connection and compatibility | What that means for connecting |
|---|---|---|
| Rematch wireless for Nintendo Switch | Wireless; listed for Switch, Switch Lite, Switch OLED, and Switch 2. The C Button is unavailable on Switch 2. Turtle Beach product listing | Use the Switch pairing or reconnect steps below. Quick-start guide |
| Rematch wired for original Switch | Wired; compatible with Switch and Switch OLED when used with the dock. Not compatible with Switch Lite, which has no dock. It is not compatible with Turtle Beach–PDP Control Hub. Turtle Beach support FAQ | Check that you have the older wired Switch model and are using it with a dock. |
| Rematch wired for Switch 2 | Wired; the listing names Switch 2, Switch, and Switch OLED. It does not need charging; its cable is listed as 10 feet/3 meters. Turtle Beach product listing | Use the wired connection; do not apply the wireless pairing sequence. |
| Rematch Core wired for Xbox/PC | Wired USB-C; listed for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows 10/11 PC, with an 8-foot cable. Turtle Beach product listing | Use it with a listed Xbox or Windows PC, not the Switch wireless pairing procedure. |
Reconnect the Rematch wireless controller to a Nintendo Switch
The steps here apply to the wireless Nintendo Switch Rematch model. Turtle Beach’s guide describes initial pairing and reconnecting a previously paired controller. See the quick-start guide.
Pair it for the first time
- Turn on the Nintendo Switch and press any button on the controller. It may connect automatically.
- If it does not, use the Joy-Con controllers to open Controllers > Change Grip/Order.
- Hold the Rematch’s sync button at the top, near the charging port, for three seconds. Wait for it to pair and for the player indicator to stay solid.
Reconnect a controller already paired
- On the Switch, open Controllers > Change Grip/Order.
- Press L and R on the Rematch controller.
If the controller or Switch is asleep, the quick-start guide also says holding Home can wake them.

Check battery and charging before treating it as a pairing failure
On the wireless model, the function-button LED blinks red every 30 seconds when the battery is low. To charge it, connect the controller to a USB port on the Nintendo Switch dock using the included USB-C cable. The LED pulses red while charging and turns white when fully charged. Turtle Beach recommends charging the controller every three months during storage to prevent the battery from completely draining. Quick-start guide.
If the controller keeps disconnecting
The documented guide provides pairing, reconnection, wake, and charging steps, but does not provide a universal diagnostic sequence for repeated disconnections. Avoid relying on undocumented reset combinations or firmware instructions.

- Confirm the exact model is compatible with your console and that you are following the correct wired or wireless method.
- For the wireless Switch model, check the battery indicator and charge it if needed, then retry the documented reconnect steps.
- If it still disconnects, contact Turtle Beach support with the model name, console, connection type, and what the controller’s indicator lights do.
Will a Rematch controller work with Switch 2?
It depends on the model. Turtle Beach’s wireless Rematch listing includes Switch 2 compatibility, with the C Button unavailable on that console. The newer wired Switch 2 listing also names Switch 2 compatibility. Do not assume every controller bearing the Rematch name works with Switch 2: the original wired Switch FAQ covers Switch and Switch OLED, not Switch 2, so check the listing for your exact model.
