For a choppy or unclear A50 X microphone, first turn off Noise Gate in Logitech G HUB or the Logitech G mobile app, then connect the base station directly to your PC or console instead of through a USB hub or dock. For video passthrough problems, troubleshoot the HDMI path separately: an HDMI 2.1 TV is not required, but Logitech recommends trying HDMI 2.1-certified cables for black screens, flicker, or artifacts. For other sound or base-station connection issues, use Logitech’s A50 X-specific setup materials rather than instructions for older Astro A50 models.
A50 X mic is choppy or unclear
Logitech’s first check is the Noise Gate setting. If it is too aggressive for your environment, it may interfere with microphone audio. Temporarily turn Noise Gate off in G HUB or the Logitech G mobile app and check whether the mic improves. This is a diagnostic, not a guaranteed fix. Logitech’s A50/A50 X microphone troubleshooting gives this advice.

- Open G HUB or the Logitech G mobile app and select the A50 X.
- Find Noise Gate in the headset’s microphone settings and turn it off temporarily.
- Test the microphone in the same application or game where the problem occurred.
- If the audio is still choppy or unclear, check whether the base station is connected through a USB hub or docking station. Connect it directly to a USB port on the PC or game system and test again.
If you uninstalled the app after changing Noise Gate and can no longer adjust the setting, Logitech says to reinstall the app. Logitech also names a factory reset as an alternative; consult its A50 X-specific support material for the applicable procedure rather than trying a button combination from an older A50 guide.
A50 X black screen, flickering, or video artifacts
First separate an HDMI video-passthrough symptom from a headset audio or microphone fault. Logitech says the A50 X does not require an HDMI 2.1 television and supports legacy HDMI versions. However, with a latest-generation console, a TV without HDMI 2.1 can limit access to 120Hz HDR, Variable Refresh Rate (VRR), and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM). For black screens, flicker, or artifacts, Logitech suggests trying HDMI 2.1-certified cables. Its support page points to the HDMI Forum Ultra High-Speed Cable Certification Program. This cable check is aimed at video symptoms; it is not a remedy for choppy microphone audio, wireless connection problems, or audio routing.
A50 X has no sound or won’t connect to the base station
These symptoms can involve setup or device-specific connection details, but the available A50 X support material here does not establish a complete platform-by-platform routing checklist, pairing sequence, or reset-button combination. Start with Logitech’s A50 X Getting Started page, which provides device-specific setup materials and current support options. Follow the instructions for your platform and connection arrangement.

Do not apply optical-cable, mode-switch, pairing, or reset steps written for Astro A50 Gen 2, Gen 3, or Gen 4 to the A50 X unless Logitech explicitly identifies them as applicable to this model. The base-station hardware and procedures differ by generation.

Logitech’s software compatibility page lists G HUB for A50 X LIGHTSPEED and also lists the Logitech G mobile app for A50 X. Astro Command Center is listed for older A50 Gen 3 and Gen 4 models, not as the A50 X’s software path. Use the A50 X-compatible apps for its settings rather than following old-generation Command Center firmware instructions.
