To fix a quirk in Pacific Drive, first identify the action or condition that triggers it and the resulting behavior of a car part. Enter that trigger-and-effect diagnosis at the Tinker Station, then open its Fixes screen and use the repair item it specifies. Diagnosis alone does not remove the quirk.
Where to find the Tinker Station
Look for the Tinker Station in the Auto Shop, near the battery charger. Its diagnosis interface has four selections: two describe the trigger or condition, and two describe the affected car part and its behavior. Think of the diagnosis as a relationship: trigger or condition → affected part → behavior.
How to identify the quirk
Before spending guesses, try to reproduce the strange behavior. Use the garage or test loop, and vary one likely input at a time. For example, observe whether the issue follows a particular movement, control input, or vehicle state. Note what happens immediately before the affected part behaves unexpectedly; a trigger that reliably precedes the effect is more useful than a plausible-sounding guess.
- Repeat the suspected trigger and check whether the same part responds in the same way.
- Change only one action or condition between attempts so you can distinguish cause from coincidence.
- Keep a record of combinations you have already tried.
How to enter and refine a diagnosis
- At the Tinker Station, choose the two selections that describe the trigger or condition.
- Choose the two selections that describe the affected part and its behavior.
- Submit the combination and read the station’s feedback. The basic interface can tell you how many selections are correct without identifying which ones.
- Use your observations and the feedback to revise the combination. Avoid repeating tried combinations, and prioritize details you have confirmed in the garage or test loop.
Guides describe a limited number of guesses, so controlled observation is useful before experimenting at the station. If feedback narrows the possibilities but does not identify the right selections, change the parts you have the least evidence for rather than discarding a trigger or effect you have repeatedly observed.

How to apply the repair after diagnosis
Once the station accepts the diagnosis, switch to the Fixes screen and select the diagnosed quirk. The screen shows which repair item is required. If you have that item, apply the repair there. If the quirk remains after you identify it, check that you have completed this separate item-based step; accepting a diagnosis is not itself a repair.

Guides describe Investigator and Analysis modules as ways to make diagnosis easier: they can provide hints or reveal an element of a diagnosis, and some hint functions involve Stable Energy. The exact labels, effects, and resource requirements can depend on the current game build, so check the module descriptions in your game before relying on a particular function.
