Activision does not currently publish a 6034-specific explanation or universal fix, so use the repair method for the platform where Call of Duty is installed rather than deleting files at random.
On PC, update the game, run the platform’s built-in repair or verification tool, clear its cache, and reinstall only if those steps fail. On Xbox, quit and restart the console, clear temporary cache data, inspect the installed content, and treat advice about Multiplayer Pack 2 and Multiplayer Pack 3 as an old, build-specific workaround—not a guaranteed solution.

What Dev Error 6034 means
6034 is not a normal in-game status or account code. It is a crash or launch error reported in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone installations. The available evidence connects it with content that is damaged, incomplete, mismatched with the current build, or represented incorrectly in a cache.
That description is deliberately cautious. A historical troubleshooting review recorded no official Activision explanation of one precise root cause, and current Activision support pages do not list Dev Error 6034 by name. Those pages do document repair, cache, verification and reinstall procedures for comparable launch and application errors. Therefore, a 6034 message tells you that Warzone cannot use some required data; it does not identify one particular file, pack or hardware component.

The error is also version-sensitive. Package names and required downloads have changed across Modern Warfare and Warzone builds. A fix that worked for an older installation may not apply to the current Call of Duty content list.
Choose the least disruptive fix first

Do not begin by removing Multiplayer Pack 2 or 3, and do not uninstall the whole game before the built-in repair has completed. Repair and cache actions are reversible or limited; an uninstall can require a large download and may leave you waiting before you can test the result.
Fix Dev Error 6034 on a PC
1. Confirm which PC version you installed
The menu names differ depending on whether Warzone is installed through Battle.net or through the Xbox app/Microsoft Store. Open the launcher you normally use and identify the Call of Duty entry before following the matching procedure below. Applying a Battle.net repair to a Microsoft Store installation, or vice versa, will not repair the files that are actually failing.

2. Update Warzone and the launcher
- Open Battle.net if that is where the game is installed.
- Select Call of Duty/Warzone in your games list.
- Open the game’s options menu and choose Check for Updates.
- Allow every game or launcher update to finish before pressing Play.
Blizzard’s launch-error guidance specifically points to checking for updates and scanning and repairing when damaged or outdated files prevent a game from launching. An update can also replace content that no longer matches the current build, so it is the safest first test.
If the launcher reports that everything is current but 6034 remains, continue to file repair instead of repeatedly restarting the game.

3. Run Battle.net Scan and Repair
- In Battle.net, open the Call of Duty/Warzone page.
- Use the game’s options menu and select Scan and Repair.
- Start the scan and leave Battle.net open until it reports completion.
- Launch Warzone once the repair has finished.
The scan checks the installed data and replaces or corrects files Battle.net identifies as damaged. It is less disruptive than deleting the installation. If the scan finds a problem, let the replacement download finish; launching while it is still working can reproduce the same incomplete-content condition.
4. Repair a Microsoft Store or Xbox app installation
For the PC version delivered through the Xbox app or Microsoft Store, use Windows’ application repair path:

- Go to Apps > Installed apps.
- Find Call of Duty in the list.
- Open its three-dot menu, choose Advanced options, and select Terminate.
- After the process stops, choose Repair.
- Start the game and test it.
Terminate closes the app before Windows attempts the repair. It is not the same as uninstalling and should not remove the entire installation. Activision’s current guidance for comparable Xbox-on-PC 0x errors uses this sequence and says to reinstall if repair does not resolve the problem.
5. Verify and repair Microsoft Store files
If the Windows repair does not help, verify the game’s files in the store interface:
- Open the Xbox app or Microsoft Store, depending on where you manage the installation.
- Select the Call of Duty game.
- Open Manage, then the Files section.
- Choose Verify and Repair.
- Wait for the verification and any replacement download to finish, then launch Warzone.
This step addresses a store-managed file set that the Windows app-repair button may not fully verify. If the option is unavailable, use the repair control offered by the app that owns the installation rather than deleting folders manually.

6. Clear temporary launcher or game cache
Activision explains that temporary cached data can become corrupted and lead to connectivity problems, freezes, or slow or unsuccessful game loads. Use the cache-clearing procedure supported by your Windows launcher, then restart that launcher and test Warzone again. Close the game and launcher completely before clearing temporary data so that no files remain in use.
Cache clearing is a diagnostic step, not a replacement for file verification. If 6034 returns immediately, proceed to a formal repair or verification instead of repeatedly clearing the same cache.
7. Reinstall only after repair and verification fail
A clean reinstall is the final PC step because it consumes the most time and bandwidth. Use it when the update, Scan and Repair or Verify and Repair process completes successfully but the same error still appears.
- Remove the affected Call of Duty installation through the launcher that manages it.
- Restart Windows before beginning the new installation.
- Install the game outside Downloads, Desktop, Windows or Temp folders, following Blizzard’s launch-error advice.
- Allow the entire download and every content update to finish before launching.
- Do not set the game executable to Run as administrator unless a current support instruction specifically requires it; Blizzard advises that the executable should not be configured that way for this class of launch error.
Preserve any locally stored data you need before uninstalling. Warzone content and account progression can involve online services, but the safe approach is to keep anything you cannot recreate and to verify that the new installation has completed all required packs before testing.
Fix Dev Error 6034 on Xbox
1. Fully quit Warzone and restart the console
- Exit Warzone instead of leaving it suspended in Quick Resume.
- Use the console’s power menu to restart it.
- After the dashboard returns, launch Warzone and test once.
This clears a running session and forces the game to rebuild its launch state. If the error appears again, continue with cache and content checks.

2. Clear the console’s temporary cache
Activision’s cache guidance notes that corrupted temporary data can contribute to freezes, connectivity trouble and unsuccessful loads. Use the cache-clearing procedure supported by your Xbox model and then restart the console before opening Warzone. The exact button sequence can vary by console and system software, so follow the current instructions shown by Xbox rather than using an unverified combination from an old forum post.
Cache clearing should not be confused with deleting installed game content. The purpose is to remove temporary data; your next step is to inspect the permanent Call of Duty installation.
3. Inspect installed Call of Duty content
- Highlight Call of Duty on the Xbox dashboard.
- Open Manage game and add-ons.
- Review the installed game, campaign, multiplayer and compatibility content shown for your current build.
- Note any item marked missing, not installed or awaiting an update.
- Install or update the content that the current game listing identifies as required.
- Restart Warzone only after the content operation has completed.
Do not rely on a package name remembered from an older Modern Warfare installation. Current content lists can differ, and a similarly named pack may no longer be required.
4. Treat Multiplayer Pack 2 and Multiplayer Pack 3 as a historical workaround
Older community reports connected Dev Error 6034 with multiplayer content packages, including Multiplayer Pack 2 and Multiplayer Pack 3. Some players reported success after removing and reinstalling those packages. These reports are anecdotal, tied to particular Modern Warfare/Warzone builds and not an Activision guarantee.

If your current Manage game and add-ons screen still lists either pack, you can test the workaround carefully:

- Record which packs are installed and which modes you need.
- Remove only the suspected multiplayer pack, not unrelated saved data.
- Restart the console.
- Reinstall the pack from the current Call of Duty content manager or Xbox installation screen.
- Wait for the download and any update to finish, then launch Warzone.
If the current content manager does not show Multiplayer Pack 2 or 3, do not hunt for an old package name or download an unofficial copy. That absence usually means the present build uses a different content layout.
5. Reinstall the affected game or content
If restarting, cache clearing and content inspection do not change the error, reinstall the affected game or content from Xbox. Keep any save data you need, remove only what the console identifies as the Call of Duty installation, and allow the download to finish completely before starting the game. A partial installation can recreate the same incomplete-content condition you are trying to remove.

Record the platform, launcher, installed content names and the exact point at which 6034 appears. Then contact Activision Support or use its bug-reporting route, explaining which update, repair, cache and reinstall steps you completed. Because there is no current 6034-specific article confirming one root cause, support needs those details to distinguish a damaged local installation from a build or service issue.
Do not describe an old community workaround as an official fix, and do not infer a failure rate from forum posts. Community reports can reveal patterns, but they do not establish that deleting one pack will fix every Xbox installation.
