If eFootball feels delayed in multiplayer but runs normally offline, first identify the match mode: different modes use different connection setups. Then compare several matches’ connection indicators, test your local network with reversible changes, and check PC performance separately. These checks can help narrow down the cause, but none guarantees a fix.
First, work out whether the problem is online-only
Compare the delay in online matches with offline play and menus. If the problem appears only online, the network path is worth investigating; if offline play or menus also feel slow, check PC performance as well. This comparison is a troubleshooting heuristic, not proof of a particular cause.
Also note which match modes are affected. KONAMI says eFootball uses different connection architectures depending on the mode, so a problem in one mode does not necessarily tell you what is happening in another. See KONAMI’s Online PvP Setup for its mode-specific explanation.
Know which connection setup your mode uses

KONAMI says a nearby data center generally supports better connection quality, but infrastructure can make a farther server a better option. Server selection takes factors such as opponent locations and infrastructure into account. The cited documentation does not describe a player setting for manually choosing a particular eFootball server.

Read the connection indicators in client-server matches
In client-server online PvP, the antenna icon reflects your connection to the game server in real time. After the match, check the connection graph: KONAMI says higher values indicate greater stability and the graph shows how connection quality changed during that match.
Look at several matches before drawing a conclusion. A single match gives you only one snapshot, while the graph can show whether quality changed during a particular match. These indicators describe connection quality; they do not, by themselves, establish whether the cause is your Wi-Fi, your ISP’s route, server conditions, or something else.

Try local network checks you can reverse
- Close network-heavy background activity. Pause large downloads or uploads and close apps using substantial bandwidth while you play.
- Reduce competition on shared Wi-Fi. If other devices are using the same network heavily, compare a match when that activity is paused.
- Reduce nearby radio interference. KONAMI advises avoiding nearby devices that emit radio waves, such as microwaves.
- Compare Wi-Fi with Ethernet if available. A wired test can help you assess whether the wireless connection is a factor on your PC. KONAMI’s wired-LAN suggestion is specifically phrased for console play, so treat Ethernet here as a reasonable comparison, not an official PC-specific fix.
KONAMI cautions that these measures are not guaranteed to improve connection quality. Ethernet will not necessarily resolve server-side congestion, ISP routing issues, or every kind of perceived input delay.
Check whether the PC can run the game smoothly
KONAMI’s current PC requirements, listed on its official site as checked on October 8, 2026, are below. They describe the current listing, not necessarily the requirements for the original 2024 release.

KONAMI warns that a device may not run the game smoothly even if it meets the minimum requirements. The Steam listing also states broadband Internet but neither it nor the official requirements specify a numeric speed threshold for online play; these figures should not be treated as an online-lag benchmark. Check the current eFootball official site and Steam listing for their published details.

Use the support route for your region and select PC where the form asks for a platform. KONAMI’s eFootball 2024 contact page, published September 11, 2023, directs people in Europe, the Middle East, India, South Africa, Australia, or New Zealand to a regional site; it directs other regions to the eFootball Team ticket form. Because support routes can change, check the contact page for the current route.

To make the report useful, include the affected modes, approximate match dates and times, whether offline play is affected, whether more than one mode shows the problem, and any antenna levels or post-match graph observations from client-server matches.
Check current notices, but don’t assume they explain your lag
KONAMI’s official home page listing retrieved October 8, 2026 included an “Issue Online PvP Issue” item dated 08/10/2026. That listing does not establish its scope, affected platforms, or resolution, so it cannot be assumed to describe an individual PC player’s problem. Check the notice itself and any updates on KONAMI’s official site.
