If Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess is crashing on PC, start by checking that your system meets the game’s minimum requirements, then work through Capcom’s troubleshooting steps: lower graphics settings if you are below recommended specs, update Windows and your graphics driver, confirm the game is using the right GPU, verify its Steam files, and close resource-heavy apps. These steps are not guaranteed fixes. A documented AMD driver issue applies only to a specific crash at the Okumiyama Passage stage on certain hardware.
Start with the PC requirements
Compare your hardware with the official Steam requirements before changing settings or drivers. Steam’s listing gives the following specifications and estimated performance targets:

These are Steam’s listed requirements and estimates, not a promise of stable performance in every scene; the listing warns that frame rates may fall in graphics-intensive scenes. Capcom says a PC below minimum specifications may run poorly or fail to run. If your system meets minimum but not recommended requirements, lower graphics settings and restart the game when prompted or needed. Steam’s system requirements were checked in 2026.
Try the troubleshooting steps in order
1. Lower or reset graphics settings
If the game launches but crashes during play, reduce demanding graphics options first. If settings may be preventing the game from launching, Capcom’s Steam FAQ describes a reset: close the game, open its Steam library properties and installed files, rename config.ini to config_backup.ini, copy config_default.ini as config.ini, then launch again. This restores the default configuration; note any custom settings you may want to reapply. Capcom’s Steam FAQ has the reset instructions.

2. Make sure the game uses the right GPU
On a laptop with both integrated and discrete graphics, check that Windows or your GPU software assigns Kunitsu-Gami to the high-performance GPU. Connect the charger and check the computer’s power settings as well. Capcom notes that some integrated graphics chips may work but are untested and unsupported. If using NVIDIA SLI or AMD Crossfire, Capcom suggests trying the game with the multi-GPU feature disabled because it can cause compatibility problems.
3. Update Windows and your graphics driver
Install available Windows updates and a current driver for your graphics card, then restart the PC. Capcom lists a clean driver installation as a possible step for persistent problems; it is not a requirement or guaranteed fix. The guide mentions DDU, a third-party utility used by some enthusiasts, but use such a tool only if you understand the risks and its instructions.

4. Verify Steam’s game files and reduce background load
In Steam, use the game’s properties to verify the integrity of its installed files. Steam can replace missing or damaged files. Close other applications that are using substantial CPU, GPU, memory, or storage activity, then test the game again. For launch problems, Capcom also lists trying administrator mode or adding antivirus exclusions. Follow Capcom’s instructions carefully; do not broadly disable security protection.
5. Give shader compilation time when it is actually in progress
Capcom says the game compiles a shader cache during loading and displays progress. This can take longer after changing a graphics card or other PC components; subsequent sessions should generally have little wait after the initial compilation. A long shader-compilation load is not, by itself, evidence that a persistent crash is harmless.

Check whether the Okumiyama Passage AMD issue matches
Capcom’s Steam FAQ identifies a previously confirmed crash during the Okumiyama Passage stage on certain hardware configurations using AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition 24.7.1. AMD’s game-specific Adrenalin Edition 24.10.29.04 release notes list a fix for an intermittent crash affecting some Radeon RX 6600 and RX 6700 series GPUs on Windows 10/11.
This is a scoped, historical driver case—not a general explanation for crashes on other GPUs, at other stages, or with other driver versions. Check AMD’s current supported driver information for your specific card and operating system rather than assuming that the older release-note version is the right download today. If it still crashes, send Capcom useful details
Capcom asks players to provide enough information to distinguish a launch failure from a repeatable in-game crash. Include:
- CPU, RAM, GPU model and VRAM, display specifications, driver version, and Windows version.
- Antivirus software and the game’s graphics settings.
- Where and when the crash happens, what the character was doing, and whether restarting changes the result.
- Steps that reliably reproduce the problem, plus screenshots or video if they clarify it.
- Any CrashReport ZIP files. For the default Steam installation, Capcom identifies the CrashReport folder inside
SteamsteamappscommonKunitsu-Gami Path of the Goddess.
Use Capcom’s Steam FAQ and troubleshooting guide for the support route and requested diagnostic information. Capcom’s guide says it does not warrant or officially provide technical support for PCs below the official minimum requirements.
