First note what feels delayed and whether it happens outside Roblox; then use the matching checks below instead of assuming you need a new mouse.
Identify what feels delayed
“Mouse delay” can describe different symptoms. A camera that moves in jumps may be a graphics or system performance issue. Actions that register late, especially while an experience is loading, may point to a slow or unstable connection. A pointer or click that feels delayed across your desktop as well as Roblox makes a mouse or connection issue more plausible.
- Choppy visuals or camera movement: start with graphics and other apps using system resources.
- Slow loading or late in-experience actions: check Roblox service status and your connection.
- Pointer or clicks delayed outside Roblox too: compare another USB port or mouse, if available. This is a practical isolation test, not a Roblox-published fix.
Roblox Support separates network, graphics, and system lag. It explains that network lag happens when the connection to Roblox is slow or unstable, and can make in-experience actions take longer than usual. That does not, by itself, show that the mouse is faulty. See Roblox Support’s guide to reducing lag and speeding up play.
Check whether Roblox is having a service problem
If the delay began suddenly or affects several experiences, check Roblox’s official status page before changing local settings repeatedly. Roblox says service issues or maintenance can cause delays across its website, platform, or applications. If a service issue is reported, local mouse and graphics adjustments are unlikely to resolve its effects.

If the experience looks choppy, lower graphics quality
Test this when the screen stutters, visuals are choppy, or camera movement seems uneven. Lowering graphics quality reduces visual detail, so use it as a temporary diagnostic: if the experience becomes smoother, performance is likely involved. Restore your preferred setting if it makes no difference.
- While in the experience, open the menu by selecting the Roblox logo or pressing Esc.
- Select Settings.
- Set Graphics Mode to Manual.
- Move the Graphics Quality slider to the left and check whether the experience runs more smoothly.
These are Roblox Support’s documented steps for changing Graphics Quality. If reducing graphics does not help, close other high-power apps you do not need and test again; Roblox includes that as a next step in its lag troubleshooting guidance.

If loading or actions are slow, check the connection
Connection checks are most relevant when experiences load slowly or in-game actions take unusually long to respond. They are not proof that the physical mouse is defective.
- Test a wired internet connection if one is practical, then compare how the experience responds.
- Use an updated browser supported by Roblox if you launch or play through a browser flow.
- Check browser security settings and temporarily disable ad-blocking extensions or add-ons if they may be interfering with experiences loading.
Roblox lists these checks in General Connection Problems. A wired test is a way to compare connection behavior where possible, not a guarantee of lower mouse-input latency.

Test whether the mouse is the source
Compare the pointer and clicks outside Roblox—for example, on the desktop or in another application. If they feel normal elsewhere but only one experience feels delayed, graphics, network conditions, or that experience may be involved. If delay occurs across applications, try another USB port or a different mouse if you have one, changing one thing at a time.
This comparison is a practical diagnostic inference, not a procedure Roblox Support documents as a mouse-specific fix. If the problem consistently follows one mouse across applications, troubleshooting its connection or considering replacement hardware becomes more reasonable. A wired USB mouse may be worth considering only after that evidence; no mouse is a guaranteed Roblox remedy.

Restart Roblox, then seek support if needed
If status, graphics, connection, and mouse comparisons do not explain the problem, restart the computer and Roblox, then see whether the issue can be reproduced. Roblox’s Mac troubleshooting guidance also discusses reinstalling when needed, using a supported browser if browser-launched play is problematic, and contacting Support with useful diagnostic details. Its recommendations are specific to Mac troubleshooting and do not establish a definitive Windows mouse-latency fix.
When contacting Roblox Support, include your device model, operating system version, any error messages, and the exact steps that reproduce the delay. Roblox’s Mac troubleshooting page asks for this kind of information. Consult Roblox’s computer hardware and operating system requirements if you need to check platform compatibility; the page recommends a more capable computer for best performance but does not give a mouse-specific Windows fix.
