If Pummel Party crashes or will not load on PC, restart your computer, verify the game files in Steam, then check Windows and graphics-driver updates and test with nonessential apps and overlays closed. These are safe first checks, not guaranteed fixes: the cause depends on when the failure happens and on your PC’s configuration.
Start with the basic checks
- Restart the computer and Steam. Launch Steam again after the restart, then try Pummel Party. Steam recommends a fresh restart before following its troubleshooting guide: Steam Support: Game won’t launch.
- Verify Pummel Party’s installed files. In your Steam Library, right-click Pummel Party (or open its gear menu), choose Properties, select Installed Files, then click Verify integrity of game files. Steam says verification can help when files are missing or a game crashes. Don’t run it alongside other system-intensive jobs. - Check Windows and graphics-driver updates. Install available updates, restart if requested, and test the game again. Steam includes operating-system and driver updates among its recommended launch checks.
- Close nonessential applications and overlays for a test. Exit apps you do not need, including overlays, then launch the game. If it works, re-enable them one at a time to see whether the failure returns; this can help narrow down a conflict, but does not prove that a particular app is defective.
Check whether your PC meets the listed requirements
Steam’s Pummel Party listing gives these minimum requirements: Windows 7, a dual-core 2.4 GHz processor, 3 GB RAM, a GeForce 8800 GT, AMD HD 6850, Intel HD Graphics 4400 or above, DirectX 11, broadband internet, and 1 GB available storage. See the Pummel Party Steam store listing.

There is an important platform distinction: Windows 7 is the game’s listed minimum OS, but Steam separately says its client supports Windows 10 and later starting January 1, 2024. Meeting the older game requirement does not by itself mean the current Steam client will run on that PC.

Use the timing of the crash to guide the next test
It fails before the menu or during startup
After the restart and file verification, focus on updates, the listed requirements, and startup conflicts. If you still cannot reach the menu, note whether the game closes immediately, stops at a logo, shows a black screen, or displays an error. These symptoms help describe the problem but do not identify a cause on their own.

It crashes after you have been playing
Test with overlays and other nonessential background software closed. In a Steam Community post dated October 3, 2018, Rebuilt Games wrote: “A known issue with the nvidia overlay can cause the game to randomly crash after 5-10 minutes of playing”. That is historical developer advice about a possible issue, not confirmation of a current, universal defect.
Basic checks do not help
Rebuilt Games’ developer post also mentions compatibility mode, running the game as administrator, and reinstalling to another drive as possible troubleshooting tests. These are optional next steps, not prerequisites; try them only after the basic checks. The post dates to 2018, so its advice may not reflect current Windows, driver, or overlay behavior.

If the game still crashes or will not load, Steam recommends contacting the developer for in-depth support. The Pummel Party support page identifies Rebuilt Games and lists [email protected] as its contact address. Send a concise description that includes:
