If an error names BattlEye or Ubisoft Anti-Cheat, follow the matching repair steps; otherwise, test launcher cache, overlays, background apps, and system settings in order. There is no single guaranteed fix: a crash can happen at different launch stages, and the symptom alone does not identify the cause.
First, note when the crash happens
Before changing settings, note whether Siege closes before a game window appears, crashes after the splash screen, or displays a specific BattlEye or anti-cheat service error. The stage and exact wording help you choose the relevant troubleshooting branch, but do not prove a cause by themselves.
Verify Siege’s game files
Use the launcher that manages your installation to verify or validate the game files. Ubisoft says missing or corrupted dependency files can cause crashes or performance problems, and both Ubisoft’s anti-cheat guidance and BattlEye’s FAQ recommend file verification. Follow the launcher’s on-screen verification process, then try launching the game again.
Fix an anti-cheat error if the message points to one
Ubisoft Anti-Cheat
If the error identifies Ubisoft Anti-Cheat, use Ubisoft’s anti-cheat support guidance to repair or reinstall the component. Use its instructions for your specific error rather than deleting anti-cheat files at random.

BattlEye service errors
For a BattlEye launch or service error, consult the BattlEye FAQ and match its troubleshooting steps to the message you see. BattlEye says security software can block service files; its FAQ also covers permissions and service installation for particular errors. Check whether your security software is blocking the relevant service files, following the security product’s own instructions. Do not uninstall BattlEye as a general fix: BattlEye says file validation is required, and uninstalling it prevents the game from launching. Its FAQ dates to July 27, 2016, so avoid applying its older Windows-specific references as current fixes unless they match your system and error.
Test for launcher-cache and software conflicts
If file verification and any applicable anti-cheat repair do not help, Ubisoft developer support recommends clearing Steam and Ubisoft Connect cache folders and temporarily disabling unnecessary background applications. Ubisoft specifically names overlays from Ubisoft Connect, Steam, Nvidia, Discord, and RivaTuner, along with monitoring tools. Test with these disabled, changing one category at a time where practical so you can tell whether the result changes. Use the support instructions for the launcher to locate and clear its cache.

Restore default tuning and settings for a test
If a GPU utility optimized Siege, revert its game settings to their defaults. Also return CPU and GPU overclocks or undervolts to default while testing. This is a way to isolate variables, not evidence that tuning caused the crash. If the game launches at defaults, reintroduce changes individually to identify whether one affects startup.
Check supporting software if simpler steps fail
Ubisoft developer guidance recommends reinstalling current versions of DirectX, the Visual C++ 2015–2022 Redistributable, and .NET Framework when basic troubleshooting has not resolved the issue. Get these components from their official publishers and follow their installation instructions; do not assume that reinstalling them will fix every startup crash.

Escalate a persistent crash with diagnostics
If Siege still freezes or crashes after these checks, gather the information Ubisoft developer support recommends: DxDiag and MsInfo system reports, plus Ubisoft Connect launcher logs. Include the exact error text and where startup stops when contacting Ubisoft support. For a BattlEye-specific launch failure that remains unresolved after its FAQ steps, contact BattlEye support through its FAQ page.
When the crash began immediately after a game update, check current Siege notices for a known issue before making broader system changes. The available support guidance does not establish a particular active issue for an unspecified PC or game build. It also does not support recommending a hardware upgrade without first diagnosing the system.
