If Roblox has no sound, first join a different experience and test another app. This quickly shows whether the problem belongs to one experience, Roblox itself, or your device. Then check Roblox’s in-experience Volume setting, your media volume and output device, and—on Windows—the app-specific Volume mixer. Reinstall Roblox only after these faster fixes fail.
First, find out what is silent
- Join a second Roblox experience. Trigger a menu click, avatar movement, or another obvious sound.
- Test another app. Play a video or music through the same speakers or headset.
- Separate game audio from voice chat. Music, effects, ambience, and interface sounds are different from microphone and voice-chat audio.
If only one experience is silent, the issue may be inside that experience. If every Roblox experience is silent but other apps work, continue with Roblox and platform-specific checks. If the entire device is silent, troubleshoot the device, headset, HDMI connection, Bluetooth connection, or operating system first.
Quick fixes for every platform
1. Raise Roblox’s own volume
While inside an experience, open the Roblox menu. On PC this is normally Esc; on mobile and consoles, use the on-screen or controller menu button. Open Settings, find Volume, and move the slider upward. Roblox documents Volume as an in-experience setting, although the exact appearance can vary by platform and interface version. This setting does not necessarily control every sound independently. An experience can have separate music, effects, ambience, or sound-group controls, so check its own audio menu as well.

2. Check the actual audio output
- Raise media volume, not just ringtone or notification volume.
- Turn off mute or silent mode where applicable.
- Check that headphones are fully connected.
- Disconnect Bluetooth temporarily if audio may be going to another nearby device.
- Confirm the selected TV, monitor, speaker, headset, or controller output.
- Test the same output with another application.
Roblox may be sending sound to a monitor without speakers, a disconnected Bluetooth headset, a USB headset selected after Roblox launched, or a different playback device from the one you are listening to.
3. Close Roblox and restart the device
Fully close Roblox, reconnect the intended headset or speaker, and launch Roblox again. If that does not help, restart the computer, phone, tablet, or console. Restarting can reset a stuck audio session or an output device that changed while Roblox was running.
Fix Roblox sound on Windows
Check Windows’ per-app Volume mixer
Windows can give Roblox its own volume and output device, even when system sounds and other apps work normally.
- Open Start > Settings > System > Sound.
- Select Volume mixer.
- Under Apps, find Roblox.
- Make sure Roblox is not muted and raise its volume.
- Set Roblox’s Output device to the headset or speakers you intend to use.
These per-app controls are documented by Microsoft’s Windows audio troubleshooting guide. If Roblox is not listed, leave an experience open and producing sound, then reopen Volume mixer. If it still does not appear, relaunch Roblox, reconnect the output device, and check again.

Restart Windows audio services
Use this when Windows or several applications also have audio problems:
- Press Start and type
services.msc. - Open the Services app.
- Right-click Windows Audio and select Restart.
- Right-click Windows Audio Endpoint Builder and select Restart.
- Test Roblox again.
Check the playback device and driver
If other apps are also silent, Windows does not detect the headset or speakers, or the issue began after a Windows or driver update, open Device Manager > Sound, video and game controllers. Update or reinstall the relevant device using the PC, motherboard, or audio-device manufacturer’s official support site. Avoid random “driver fixer” programs.

Browser-specific checks
If you play Roblox through a browser:
- Make sure the Roblox tab is not muted.
- Check the browser’s site permissions for sound.
- Try another updated supported browser.
- Temporarily disable extensions such as audio enhancers, ad blockers, privacy tools, or tab managers.
- Confirm the browser uses the intended Windows output device.
- Restart the browser after changing headphones or speakers.
If Roblox works in a browser but not the desktop app, the problem is likely app-specific. If both are silent while other apps work, inspect Windows’ Volume mixer and output routing.

Fix Roblox sound on Mac
- Open System Settings > Sound.
- Select the intended output device.
- Raise output volume and confirm mute is disabled.
- Reconnect wired or Bluetooth headphones.
- Quit Roblox completely and reopen it.
- Restart the Mac.
- If you play through Safari, try another supported browser such as Firefox or Google Chrome.
If Roblox remains silent, reinstall the official application. Roblox’s Mac troubleshooting guidance also documents resetting Roblox logs as an advanced step.
Advanced Mac log reset
Only do this after restarting and reinstalling, or when Roblox Support asks for fresh logs:
- Quit Roblox.
- In Finder, select Go > Go to Folder.
- Enter
~/Library/Logs/Roblox/. - Delete the contents according to Roblox’s troubleshooting procedure.
- Reproduce the problem and preserve the new logs for support.
Fix Roblox sound on iPhone or iPad
- Open Roblox and raise the device’s media volume while the game is running.
- Turn off silent mode if it is suppressing game audio on your device or iOS version.
- Open Control Center and check the current audio destination.
- Disconnect Bluetooth headphones or speakers temporarily.
- Force-close Roblox and reopen it.
- Test another experience.
- Restart the device.
- Update Roblox and iOS or iPadOS.
- Reinstall Roblox if the problem affects every experience.
Silent-mode behavior can vary by iOS version, device model, and experience, so treat it as a check rather than a guaranteed cause. Roblox’s iOS troubleshooting guidance includes force-closing, rebooting, and reinstalling. Roblox’s mobile requirements page currently lists iOS/iPadOS 14 or later; requirements can change, so check the current requirements before troubleshooting an older device.
Fix Roblox sound on Android
- Raise media volume while Roblox is open.
- Check Bluetooth and wired-audio output.
- Review any manufacturer-specific game audio, media-limit, or sound-balance settings.
- Open Android Settings, find Apps or Applications, select Roblox, and choose Force stop.
- Reopen Roblox and test another experience.
- Restart the device and install available Roblox or Android updates.
- If necessary, open Roblox’s app storage settings and try Clear cache.
- Reinstall Roblox if all experiences remain silent.
Android menu names vary by manufacturer and version. Clear data can sign you out and reset local app data; it does not delete your Roblox account or purchased Robux. Roblox’s Android troubleshooting guidance covers force-stopping, rebooting, clearing data where available, and reinstalling. Roblox currently lists Android 8.0 or later and OpenGL ES 3.0 support, but hardware compatibility and performance vary.

Fix Roblox sound on Xbox or PlayStation
- Raise the TV or monitor volume.
- Check the correct HDMI input and console audio output.
- Disconnect the headset and test Roblox through the TV or monitor.
- If using a headset, review game/chat balance.
- Fully close and relaunch Roblox.
- Restart the console.
- Test another Roblox experience and another console game.
- Update Roblox and the console system software.
- Reinstall Roblox if every experience remains silent.
Exact menu labels differ between Xbox, PS4, PS5, and their system-software versions. Roblox maintains platform-specific support through its technical support categories; its PlayStation FAQ confirms availability on PS4 and PS5 in select countries.
If only one Roblox experience has no sound
Do not immediately reinstall Roblox. Experiences control their own sound objects, audio assets, sound groups, scripts, and conditions for playing audio. Music may be intentionally disabled, effects may use a separate setting, or an asset or script may be broken or unavailable. Roblox’s creator documentation on sound explains these experience-level controls.
Check the experience’s own audio settings, test another experience, and report the problem to that experience’s creator. A client reinstall cannot repair audio configured incorrectly inside one experience.

- Every Roblox experience is silent but other applications have normal sound.
- Restarting, output selection, volume checks, and platform fixes failed.
- The problem began after an update or an incomplete installation.
- Roblox also crashes, fails to launch correctly, or behaves differently from its browser version.
Roblox recommends restarting before reinstalling. Use only Roblox’s official website or an official app store, and make sure you know the account login before removing the app. On Windows, Roblox advises restarting after uninstalling; its reinstallation instructions provide the official procedure.
Do not install modified clients, unofficial launchers, “FPS boosters,” or audio-repair tools. Roblox warns against modified versions and recommends the official, unmodified application; see its anti-cheat guidance.
What to send Roblox Support
If the problem continues across experiences and platforms, contact Roblox Support. Include:
- Your Roblox username.
- Device model and operating-system version.
- Roblox app or browser used.
- The affected experience name and URL, if only one experience is affected.
- Whether every Roblox experience is silent.
- Whether other applications have sound.
- Your headset, Bluetooth, monitor, TV, or console setup.
- Any error messages.
- Recent operating-system, driver, app, or hardware changes.
- Every troubleshooting step already attempted.
Roblox no-sound decision tree
