If Star Wars Outlaws crashes on Xbox Series X or Series S, start with low-risk checks: fully quit and relaunch the game, restart the console, and check for game and Xbox system updates. - Restart the Xbox. Then launch Star Wars Outlaws again and check whether the same crash returns.
- Check for updates. Look for an available update for the game and for the Xbox system software. Ubisoft notes that technical issues can relate to outdated system versions or specific configurations, and lists Xbox Series X|S among its platform troubleshooting options: Ubisoft Help.
- Record the crash pattern. Note your console model (Series X or Series S), installed game version, when the crash occurs, and whether the same trigger reproduces it.
These are sensible baseline checks, not a claim that each is a specifically documented Ubisoft remedy for every Xbox crash. Avoid deleting saved data or resetting the console based only on a crash; the available official information does not establish that either is appropriate for your case.

Check whether an official update matches your symptom
Ubisoft’s patch notes distinguish console platforms and specific problems. A fix listed for PS5 should not be treated as an Xbox fix, and a historical patch note does not prove what version is currently installed or whether it addresses your crash.

Ubisoft also described an intermittent Xbox Story Pack 2 save-display issue showing “Content Missing” in its May 22, 2025 Hotfix 6.1 notice, which suggested rebooting the title to reload it. That was a specific content/save display problem, not evidence of a general Xbox crash: Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws news and updates.

Report a crash that keeps happening
If the game still crashes after the basic checks, use Ubisoft’s Star Wars Outlaws Bug Reporter to look for a matching report. If one exists, add your vote; otherwise submit a report with the details you recorded. Ubisoft says reports can be tracked and it may contact the reporter for more information. In its October 24, 2024 Title Update 1.3.0 article, Ubisoft said: “We will actively update this board so you will be aware when issues are being investigated, and when fixes and improvements will be rolled out in an upcoming update.”
- Console model: Xbox Series X or Series S
- Installed game version, if available
- When the crash happens: launch, save loading, gameplay, or a particular action
- Whether the same sequence causes the crash repeatedly
- Any error message or other visible behavior
What the available fixes do—and do not—tell you
Ubisoft has documented at least one Xbox crash fix: the “New Game” crash listed in Title Update 1.3.0. Other notes reviewed describe different, platform-specific issues, including a PS5 Photo Mode crash fix and an Xbox save-display problem. They do not establish whether a current general Xbox-specific crash is acknowledged, nor whether an individual crash points to the console, game installation, or another cause.
