Reach the ground-floor generator room
The generator is on the tower’s ground floor. From outside, you can reach the garden and back entrance by descending the fungus platforms. Feather Fall can reduce the risk of fall damage; Flight or Misty Step can also help with traversal.
The ground-floor door is locked. The cited community-maintained reference reports that it can be picked with a DC 15 Sleight of Hand check. Alternatively, a small summon such as Mage Hand can reach an interior lever through a hole in the wall. These approaches are described in the Arcane Tower reference.
Find a Sussur Bloom
You need one Sussur Bloom. Look in the garden just outside the ground-floor door, or collect one from the large Sussur Tree in Dread Hollow. The Sussur Bloom reference describes the item and its locations.

Power the elevator
- Interact with the Power Generator in the ground-floor room.
- Choose the combine or crafting interface and add one Sussur Bloom.
- Confirm the combination.
Restoring power makes the elevator usable, shuts down the Arcane Turrets and lights the Arcane Braziers. The cited Arcane Tower reference also reports a 25 XP reward and a Regeneration inspiration for party members with the Guild Artisan background.
Mind the bloom’s antimagic effect
A Sussur Bloom creates an antimagic field. It can disable nearby Arcane Turrets, but it also affects nearby creatures and the character carrying it. The bloom reference says blooms wither outside the Underdark, except when kept in the Traveller’s Chest or a locked container.

Getting to the basement is a separate elevator secret
If the elevator works but you cannot find a basement stop, equip the Guiding Light ring. It reveals secret buttons on the elevator panels at the top and bottom of the tower. Flight, Misty Step and a concealed lever are also listed as ways to reach the basement in the Arcane Tower reference.
