If Titanium Court crashes, stutters, will not launch, or reports a connection error, work through this order: confirm your Windows or macOS system meets the Steam requirements, restart Steam and the computer, verify the installation, update the operating system and drivers, close competing background software, lower graphics settings, and test security and network interference. The game is a single-player Steam release, so a “connection” message usually concerns Steam authentication, downloads, updates, or launcher services rather than an in-game multiplayer server.
What Titanium Court is—and what that means for troubleshooting
Titanium Court is a single-player strategy game by AP Thomson, published by Fellow Traveller. It released on Steam for Windows and macOS on April 23, 2026. A connection error can still block sign-in, downloading, updating, cloud synchronization, or launch services, but it should not automatically be treated as multiplayer latency.

First, identify the symptom
“Lag” describes two different problems. Low frame rate or stutter is a rendering and system-performance issue. Network lag is high latency between your computer and an online service. Steam defines lag for troubleshooting purposes as “high network latency interfering with gameplay.” Because Titanium Court is listed as single-player, check whether the problem occurs while playing offline before assuming that an internet connection is responsible.

Step 1: Check the supported platform and requirements
Open the Titanium Court Steam store page and compare its listed Windows or macOS requirements with the computer that is failing. Confirm that you are using a supported desktop operating system and that the game is installed on the intended machine. A system can satisfy a minimum requirement and still deliver low FPS, stutter, or long loading times; “minimum” is not a promise of high frame rate.

Step 2: Restart Steam and the computer
Exit Steam completely, restart the computer, and launch Steam again before changing advanced settings. Steam says a restart can clear temporary system states, caches, locks, and other conditions that cause a client or game to misbehave. This is particularly useful after an interrupted update, a driver installation, a system resume, or a crash that left a process running.

- Use Steam’s exit command rather than only closing the window.
- Restart Windows or macOS.
- Open Steam, wait for downloads or updates to finish, and then start Titanium Court.
If the game still fails, note whether the failure occurs before the game window appears, at the main menu, or after loading a saved game. That timing is valuable evidence for the later support request.
Step 3: Verify the game files
A damaged or incomplete installation can cause crashes, missing assets, failed updates, or a launch that returns immediately to Steam. Use Steam’s built-in integrity check; it compares local files with the installation data available to Steam and replaces files that need repair. This is a standard Steam remedy, not a Titanium Court-specific instruction.
- Open Steam and select Library.
- Right-click Titanium Court and choose Properties.
- Open Installed Files.
- Select Verify integrity of game files and wait for the process to finish.
- Restart Steam if it reports that files were reacquired, then test the game again.
Do not delete the installation folder while a verification or update is running. If verification repeatedly reacquires the same files, check free storage, disk health, permissions, and security software that may be quarantining or locking files.
Step 4: Update the operating system and drivers
Install pending Windows or macOS updates, then update the computer’s graphics, processor-chipset, and audio drivers from the computer or component manufacturer. Steam identifies outdated drivers as a possible cause of reduced FPS and client problems. A driver update is a compatibility test, not a guarantee that every version improves this particular game.

- On Windows, use the normal system update panel and the manufacturer’s official graphics-driver channel.
- On macOS, install the compatible system update offered for the Mac; graphics drivers are delivered as part of macOS rather than as a separate consumer package.
- Restart after updates, even if the installer does not insist on it.
- Record the operating-system build and graphics-driver version if the problem remains.
Avoid installing several unrelated “driver updater” utilities while diagnosing one game. They can add another background process and make it harder to tell which change affected the result.
Step 5: Remove resource contention
Steam’s performance guidance points to background applications and insufficient memory as causes of reduced FPS and apparent lag. Before launching, close browsers with many tabs, video-capture and streaming tools, game overlays, downloaders, large file transfers, and other software you do not need. Pause Steam downloads and cloud synchronization temporarily while testing.
- Check memory use and close applications consuming an unusually large amount.
- Leave adequate free storage for temporary files and updates.
- Disconnect unnecessary displays or peripherals only if they are known to trigger a driver conflict; do not remove hardware at random.
- Run one controlled test after closing background programs, then restore them one at a time to identify a conflict.
Overlays can be especially useful to test because they insert themselves into the game’s rendering path. Disable an overlay temporarily, test, and re-enable it if it is not involved.
Step 6: Reduce graphics load when FPS is low
Higher resolution and demanding video options reduce FPS immediately on hardware that cannot sustain them. Start with the game’s own video or graphics menu and make one change at a time so you can see which setting matters.

- Lower the display resolution or render scale.
- Reduce the most demanding quality options available in the game.
- Use a sensible fullscreen or borderless mode for your display and test the alternative if one behaves poorly.
- Apply the changes, restart the game if requested, and compare the same scene or action.
Do not infer a universal “best” setting from another computer. The game’s published minimum requirements do not establish a guaranteed FPS, and no authoritative Titanium Court benchmark is available. If lower settings improve performance, the limitation is probably rendering load or system contention rather than network latency.
Step 7: Test antivirus, firewall, VPN, and cleaner interference safely
Security software, firewalls, ad blockers, VPNs, and system cleaners can interfere with launching, file access, Steam sign-in, downloads, or updates. Steam lists this class of interference among causes of launch and connection failures.

- Close the game and Steam.
- Temporarily pause the suspected security or filtering feature according to its own controls.
- Restart Steam and test the same action that failed.
- If the failure disappears, turn protection back on and create the narrowest exception available for Steam and the Titanium Court installation or executable.
- Test again, then remove the exception if it does not solve the problem.
Never treat a permanent antivirus or firewall shutdown as a fix. If you cannot determine which component is blocking Steam, ask the security-product vendor for the correct exception procedure and keep a record of any rule you add.

Step 8: Diagnose a Steam connection error
Because Titanium Court is single-player, first determine what the connection is for. Steam may need connectivity for authentication, downloading or validating files, receiving an update, or launching a service. A message about connection does not prove that an in-game server is unavailable.
Check Steam and the local client
- Check whether Steam is reporting a platform-wide outage or maintenance event.
- Exit and restart Steam and the computer.
- Confirm that the game is fully updated and that no download is stuck in the queue.
- Review the exact wording and any error code before dismissing the message.
Restart and isolate the network
- Restart the modem and router using the manufacturer’s normal procedure, then wait for the connection to stabilize.
- Stop bandwidth-heavy activity such as large downloads, streaming, backups, or cloud synchronization.
- If available, connect the computer by Ethernet and repeat the test instead of using Wi-Fi.
- Try another network, such as a trusted phone hotspot, only long enough to compare behavior and within that network’s data limits.
An Ethernet test that works while Wi-Fi fails points toward local wireless interference, router configuration, or signal quality. If both networks fail in the same way while Steam status is normal, preserve the error details for support rather than repeatedly reinstalling the game.
Step 9: Separate FPS stutter from network latency
Use observable behavior instead of the word “lag.” If the picture slows even when no network activity is required, lower the resolution and close background programs. If controls or service actions pause while rendering remains smooth, compare Ethernet, Wi-Fi, and another network. A single-player session that works offline but fails when Steam must authenticate indicates a service or network path issue, not a graphics setting.

Step 10: Collect evidence before escalating
If the general steps do not resolve the problem, contact the developer through the support link on the Steam game page. Steam directs players to third-party support for game-specific problems. A concise report is more useful than “it crashes,” particularly because no public Titanium Court crash database or reproducible benchmark is established.
- The exact error text, including capitalization and any numeric code.
- Whether the failure is a crash, freeze, black screen, failed launch, low FPS, stutter, or connection message.
- When it occurs: launch, menu, loading, a particular save, or a specific action.
- Windows or macOS version, computer model, processor, graphics processor, memory, and free storage.
- Graphics, audio, and other driver versions.
- Whether restarting, verification, updates, lower settings, or closed background programs changed the result.
- Whether the game behaves differently offline, over Ethernet, on Wi-Fi, or on another network.
- The approximate time of the failure and whether it began after an update.
Include relevant crash logs or screenshots when the support form allows them, but remove personal information. Do not claim that a particular launch option, configuration-file edit, driver version, or hardware upgrade is a confirmed Titanium Court fix unless an official source documents it.
Common mistakes to avoid
- Calling every slowdown “network lag.” Low FPS and latency require different tests.
- Assuming minimum requirements guarantee smooth play. They do not establish a target frame rate.
- Reinstalling before verifying files. Verification is less disruptive and can repair a partial installation.
- Disabling security permanently. Use a temporary test and a narrow exception only when the evidence points there.
- Changing many settings at once. One controlled change makes the cause easier to identify.
- Assuming a connection message means multiplayer servers are down. This title is listed as single-player; Steam services may be the relevant connection.
- Using unverified “optimizer” tools. They can consume resources or alter files without proving a Titanium Court-specific benefit.
