If Xbox Cloud Gaming is not working on your Samsung TV, first confirm the TV model and region support Gaming Hub, then check the TV’s internet connection, your Xbox account and game access, and your controller. If those checks pass, investigate streaming quality or Xbox service availability separately.
Start with these checks
- Confirm compatibility. Check your exact TV model and country against Samsung’s Gaming Hub availability details. Samsung describes Gaming Hub on 2022-and-newer Smart TVs, but the Xbox app is not supported on every Samsung TV, and availability varies by model and region.
- Test the TV’s connection. Run the Smart Hub Connection Test in the TV’s network or device-care diagnostics. If it reports an error, resolve the TV’s network connection before troubleshooting the Xbox app.
- Verify account and game access. Check that you are signed into the intended Microsoft account and Xbox profile, that your subscription is eligible in your country, and that the specific game supports cloud play on your device.
- Reconnect a compatible controller. Put it in pairing mode and pair it through the TV’s Gaming Hub or controller settings.
- Separate local problems from service issues. If the TV test passes and the app still fails, check Xbox service status and the game’s cloud availability rather than assuming your TV is at fault.
Samsung TV Gaming Hub is not showing, or the Xbox app is missing
Check the exact model and regional availability first. Samsung’s US page describes Gaming Hub as available on 2022-and-newer Samsung Smart TVs, select Smart Monitors and Projectors; that product guidance does not mean every Samsung television has the Xbox app. Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance recommends updating the TV firmware if Gaming Hub is missing on a compatible 2022-or-newer television.
Install available TV software updates, then check whether Gaming Hub appears. Samsung account and internet requirements can also affect connected smart features. If the hub or app remains unavailable, verify model-specific and country-specific support rather than treating the problem as a simple app fault.
The Xbox app opens, but sign-in or game access fails
Make sure the app is signed into the Microsoft account associated with the Xbox profile and eligible subscription. Samsung’s app listing says Xbox cloud gaming requires Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, while Samsung Canada’s newer general Gaming Hub page describes Game Pass more broadly. Plan names and eligibility can differ by market and change over time, so check the current Xbox cloud-gaming requirements for your country instead of relying on a universal tier assumption.

Also check whether the title itself is available for cloud play in your region and on your device. The Xbox cloud catalogue varies by region and time; subscription access does not guarantee that every game can be streamed. Samsung’s Xbox app listing also cautions: “Streaming limitations apply; server availability and wait times may vary.”
Your controller will not connect or inputs do not register
Samsung lists a Bluetooth-compatible controller as a requirement, but Bluetooth support alone does not guarantee that every gamepad works with every TV, app version, or title. Confirm compatibility for the particular TV and service, then pair the controller using the TV’s Gaming Hub or controller settings.

- Put the controller into its Bluetooth pairing mode.
- Open the TV’s Gaming Hub or controller settings and select the option to add or pair a controller.
- Select the controller when it appears, then test input in the game.
- If it pairs but does not control the game, check that the controller is supported for that device and title; remove and pair it again if needed.
Samsung’s US Gaming Hub guidance names Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller Series 2, Xbox Adaptive Controller, DualShock 4 and DualSense among supported options, along with selected other Bluetooth or USB controllers. Check Samsung’s current device support information for the exact TV before buying or troubleshooting a particular controller.
Xbox Cloud Gaming keeps buffering, looks poor, or feels delayed
Run Samsung’s connection test
Use the TV’s Smart Hub Connection Test in its network or device-care diagnostics. If the test fails, fix the TV’s connection first. A TV can appear connected to Wi-Fi while its internet path is still having problems.

Check speed and connection stability
If the test passes but streaming remains poor, Samsung recommends checking internet speed with your internet provider and reviewing the cloud-gaming provider’s service guidance. Samsung Canada recommends at least 20 Mbps for Xbox Cloud Gaming on Samsung TVs. That is a recommendation, not a guarantee of smooth play: the figure alone does not establish adequate latency, stable Wi-Fi, or performance in every home.
Before buying networking equipment, check the existing connection and the TV’s placement, then retest. The official first step is diagnosis; the available guidance does not establish that a particular router or accessory will fix buffering.

Xbox Cloud Gaming will not launch or seems unavailable
Work out whether the problem affects one game or Xbox cloud gaming more broadly. If only one title fails, check that game’s current cloud-play availability. If multiple games fail despite a working TV connection and valid account access, check Xbox service status and the provider’s service information. Samsung’s troubleshooting guidance points users to Xbox status and supported-game information, and notes that a cloud service can be temporarily unavailable.
Do not assume an outage unless current Xbox status information confirms one. Samsung also notes that server availability and waiting times can vary.
