There is no single force-update button or universal sequence for Roblox. Close and reopen the app, then check for an update through the official store or installation route for your device. If Roblox remains outdated or will not launch, reinstall it from that same official route.
Start with the update route for your device
First close Roblox completely and reopen it; if that does not help, restart your device. Next, check the platform where Roblox was installed. Avoid third-party download sites: reinstalling from the official source helps ensure you get the version distributed for your platform.

Force an update on Windows
If you installed Roblox from Microsoft Store
Open Microsoft Store and check your library or Roblox’s store listing for an update. Make sure you have the app Roblox names “Roblox – Windows”. Roblox distinguishes it from the older Store listing, which was named “Roblox” and had a light-gray icon; the newer app has a blue icon. Roblox says Windows players need the new app to keep playing.
If you use the Roblox desktop installer
Close Roblox, then launch it again from the same place you normally use. If it still does not update or open, follow Roblox’s reinstallation instructions for your installation route. Do not switch between Store and desktop-install instructions without first identifying which version you use.

Force an update on Mac
Restart your Mac and open Roblox again. If that fails, reinstall Roblox using its official desktop installation route. Roblox’s Mac troubleshooting guidance lists macOS 10.13 High Sierra or later for Roblox Application and Studio, and says Apple Silicon/M1 is supported.
Force an update on iPhone, iPad, Android, or Fire
iPhone and iPad
Open the App Store, find Roblox, and install an update if one is offered. If the app appears stuck or an update does not resolve the problem, delete Roblox and reinstall it from the App Store. Roblox currently lists iOS and iPadOS 14 as the minimum supported versions. See its mobile system requirements.

Android
Open Google Play, find Roblox, and apply any offered update. If that does not work, reinstall Roblox from Google Play. Roblox currently lists Android 8.0 or later and OpenGL ES 3.0 support as requirements; check the same mobile requirements page for current compatibility details.
Amazon Fire
Check the device’s official Roblox app listing for an update or reinstall, and verify that your Fire device meets Roblox’s current requirements. Roblox’s connection troubleshooting guidance includes Fire OS-specific information; consult it alongside the system-requirements information before troubleshooting further.

What to do on PlayStation or Xbox
Console update instructions are platform-specific. Use the Roblox support category for computer, mobile, PlayStation, and Xbox to find the guidance that matches your console. Do not use Windows Store, desktop installer, or phone-store steps for a console installation.

Check device compatibility
An update cannot make an unsupported operating system or device compatible. Compare your device with Roblox’s current mobile requirements or the relevant platform guidance. On Windows, confirm whether you need the newer Store app rather than the retired listing.

Check the connection and browser conditions
If Roblox reports a connection timeout, test whether other apps can connect and, where practical, try another internet connection. Roblox’s Error Code 266 guidance connects the error with internet connectivity. For problems when launching Roblox through a browser, Roblox also recommends clearing temporary browser data, updating the browser, and disabling extensions or plugins or a VPN while troubleshooting. These browser steps are relevant to browser-launched desktop issues, not a substitute for checking an app-store update.
Check the account region if the store offers the wrong version
Roblox says account location can affect which app version is appropriate. If a region-specific version appears to be involved, check that the store region is set correctly before downloading. See Roblox’s Account Location guidance.

Gather details before contacting support
If reinstalling does not solve a Mac or Roblox Studio issue, record the exact error, device model, operating-system version, and steps that reproduce the problem. Roblox’s Mac troubleshooting and Studio troubleshooting guidance asks users to provide relevant diagnostic details when reporting persistent problems.
