In The Sims 4, enter testingcheats true and then cas.fulleditmode to enable full Create-a-Sim editing. If the NPC is selectable, try the shift-click CAS option; if not, a community-reported fallback is to find the Sim under Manage Households. Save first, and note that console cheats disable achievements or trophies in the current save.
Enable full Create-a-Sim editing
- Save your game. This is a prudent precaution before changing a Sim.
- Open the cheat console. On PC or Mac, press Ctrl+Shift+C. On PlayStation or Xbox, hold all four shoulder buttons.
- Type
testingcheats trueand press Enter. - Type
cas.fulleditmodeand press Enter. Electronic Arts describes this cheat as opening the Sim character-creation menu in its The Sims 4 Cheats FAQ.
Try editing the NPC directly
If the NPC is present and you can target them, use the platform’s shift-click action and choose the CAS edit option if it appears. EA documents shift-click cheats after enabling testingcheats true; using that interaction to edit an NPC is also described in an EA Forums community discussion. The option may not appear for every NPC.

If the NPC is not selectable, look in Manage Households
An EA Forums reply describes this route for an already-generated nanny. It is a community-reported workaround, not a guaranteed method for every Sim or game update.
- Go to Manage Worlds.
- Open Manage Households and select Not in World.
- Find the NPC’s household and use its edit control to open Create-a-Sim.
- Make your changes, then confirm them through the interface.
If the NPC or household is not listed, this route may not apply to that character. The available evidence supports editing an existing generated NPC; it does not establish that these steps create a new NPC or change the Sim’s assigned service role.

EA warns that cheats requiring testingcheats true disable achievements on PlayStation and trophies on Xbox in the current game save. Other saves are unaffected, according to the EA Cheats FAQ. Consider that consequence before entering the cheat.
What this method can—and cannot—confirm
cas.fulleditmode opens the Sim character-creation menu, which is the documented route to full CAS editing. The available guidance does not list every editable field or confirm that every NPC archetype—including special story or service characters—can be changed. If direct editing fails, try the household route; success may depend on the NPC type and current game version.
