Learn the course first, then balance speed with clean landings: accelerate through safe sections, ease off near hazards, and flip only when there is enough airtime to complete the rotation and land upright. Exact controls and level targets vary by version, so use the controls and results shown in the edition you are playing.
How Moto X3M stars are scored
Moto X3M is a time trial: your star rating depends on how quickly you finish the level. There is no single three-star time that applies to every course. MotorHeads gives 50, 45 and 40 seconds as an example of one-, two- and three-star thresholds for a level; treat those figures as an illustration, not a universal target table. Check the result screen in your version, or a walkthrough that matches the exact level and edition.
Controls: check which version you are playing
Controls can differ between a browser-hosted game and the mobile app. MotorHeads lists these keyboard controls for the browser version it describes:
- Up: accelerate.
- Down: brake or reverse.
- Left and Right: lean the bike.
A fan-made tutorial lists W/S for acceleration and braking and A/D for leaning. It also describes combining balance keys in the air to perform flips. Treat that as an alternative control scheme, not a guarantee that every host uses it. On mobile, follow the on-screen controls rather than assuming keyboard inputs apply.

A repeatable method for earning three stars
1. Scout the course
On an early attempt, focus on locating traps, jumps, loops and awkward landing spots. Notice where speed helps and where control matters more. A route you understand is easier to improve than a fast run built on guesswork.
2. Match your speed to the section
Use throttle on open stretches and where momentum carries you through a loop. Ease off before tight hazards or jumps that demand a precise landing; holding full throttle everywhere can turn a small mistake into a crash.

3. Keep the bike level and land wheels-first
While airborne, use the lean controls to bring the bike back toward level. Aim to touch down on both wheels, especially before the next hazard. A checkpoint may let you continue after a crash, but the cited JoyForGame walkthrough says the timer keeps running through crashes and respawns, so recovery still costs time.
4. Flip only when the landing is safe
A flip can save time in some versions, but it is a risk if the bike cannot finish its rotation before landing. JoyForGame’s walkthrough reports a 0.5-second reduction for a completed flip in the version it describes. That figure is version-specific, not a verified rule for every build. Try flips on jumps with enough airtime and a clear landing; prioritize staying upright when either is uncertain.

5. Refine the run
After learning the course, replay it to remove wasted seconds. If a poor opening makes the level’s time target unrealistic, restarting can be more effective than trying to recover with risky tricks later. Use checkpoints to continue when a mistake is recoverable, but remember the clock may keep moving.
Why level counts and targets may not match online
“Moto X3M” does not refer to one uniform level list across all hosts and platforms. MotorHeads describes a browser-hosted version with 26 levels; JoyForGame describes 22 stages in the original release and says some portal versions list about 25. These are differing version or host descriptions, not one definitive count. Check the level select in the specific game you opened, and do not carry a time target from one edition into another without confirming it.

The Google Play listing is for Ace Viral’s mobile app. Its publisher describes it as free with paid content, available on Android and Windows, and advertises “Over 250 challenging stunning levels” and “More than 25 vehicles and bikes to unlock.” Those are listing claims about the app, not counts for browser editions.
