The Outlaw Keycard’s original Fortnite unlock was tied to a community-wide robbery objective in Chapter 6 Season 2, not a purchase. The card was later reported vaulted in Battle Royale with v35.00, so those steps are historical rather than a guaranteed way to get one now. Check whether the Outlaw Keycard quests and Black Markets appear in your current game before trying to follow them.
Can you get an Outlaw Keycard in Fortnite now?
The latest located item-history reference reports that the Outlaw Keycard was vaulted in Battle Royale with v35.00. That status report is community-maintained, and Epic’s original announcement documents the Chapter 6 Season 2 feature rather than confirming its present availability. The available sources do not establish whether the card has returned in a later season or mode.
If you are playing a current season, look in the live game for Outlaw Keycard quests and Black Markets. If neither appears, the original unlock route below is no longer available in that mode or season.
How the original Outlaw Keycard unlock worked
- Complete the community robbery objective. In the Chapter 6 Season 2 event, players robbed vaults and stashes in Battle Royale and Zero Build as part of a shared objective to take Bars from Fletcher Kane. Epic said completing the objective granted all players basic Outlaw faction membership and an upgradable Outlaw Keycard. Epic’s March 11, 2025 announcement describes the original event.
- Use the Common card for Black Market backrooms. The initial card gave access to Black Market backrooms around the Island.
- Complete Outlaw Keycard quests to upgrade it. The original progression raised the card’s rarity at quest-count milestones. These were event-era mechanics, not a current-season guarantee.

| Legendary | 20 | Outlaw Chests also dropped a Legendary item and a Dill Bit. |
The quest counts come from Fortnite Wiki’s community-maintained item and quest references; Epic’s announcement describes the benefits but does not independently list every threshold. See the Outlaw Keycard reference and Outlaw Keycard Quests reference.

Where the card was used
During Chapter 6 Season 2, the card opened Black Market backrooms. A 2025 GamesRadar+ guide describes interacting with a locked door at the back of a Black Market to enter; treat that as historical directions because the item is reported vaulted. GamesRadar+’s 2025 guide covers that past use.
