Recommended Free Tools
There is no item called “Auric Tesla Ore” in Terraria’s Calamity Mod. The resource is Auric Ore; Auric Tesla is an armor set crafted with Auric Bars. The guides reviewed for this article place Auric Ore’s unlock after defeating Jungle Dragon, Yharon, and say it generates in the underground Cavern layer. They recommend a Blossom Pickaxe or better, but the exact mining requirement can vary by mod version.
How to find and mine Auric Ore
- Defeat Jungle Dragon, Yharon. Guides place Auric Ore’s unlock after this boss. Games Learning Society and CyberPost describe the post-Yharon unlock, though neither source consistently identifies the Calamity version it covers.
- Search underground in the Cavern layer. After the unlock, look for Auric Ore deposits in the Cavern layer, as described by Games Learning Society.
- Bring a Blossom Pickaxe or stronger tool. That is the pickaxe guidance in Games Learning Society and CyberPost. If your pickaxe cannot mine the ore, check the current in-game item or wiki information for the requirement in your installed version.
Turn Auric Ore into Auric Tesla armor
Use the current in-game crafting recipe to make Auric Bars from Auric Ore, then craft Auric Tesla armor at a Cosmic Anvil. The recipes include other ingredients as well as Auric Bars, so ore alone is not enough to complete the set. Recipe relationships are listed by the community-maintained Calamity Mod Wiki’s Cosmic Anvil page; check the recipe in your game for current quantities.

Why the name causes confusion
Use Auric Ore when looking for the mining resource and Auric Tesla armor when looking for the equipment. “Auric Tesla ore” is a common query phrasing, but it combines the armor’s name with the ore’s name rather than identifying a separate item.
Version-specific details to verify
The available guides do not consistently state which Calamity version they cover. They support the broad guidance—Yharon unlock, Cavern-layer deposits, and Blossom Pickaxe-level mining—but do not establish a version-specific pickaxe-power threshold, exact current spawn behavior, or current crafting quantities. Confirm those details in the installed game or the current wiki for your version.
