The main reported way to earn Bonds in Dead Rails is to search points of interest (POIs) and collect the Bonds you find. Challenges and completed runs can also award Bonds. Bonds persist for lobby unlocks and starting items; they are separate from money you earn and spend during a run.
What Bonds are used for
Bonds are a persistent currency for lobby purchases, including starting items, classes, and trains. Run money is different: it is used within a run rather than saved as Bonds for lobby unlocks. The Dead Rails community wiki’s Bonds reference describes these uses.
How to earn Bonds through gameplay
Search points of interest
Explore buildings and POIs thoroughly, collecting any Bonds you find. The community wiki reports banks in towns, the Castle, Sterling’s Bank and Mines, Fort Constitution, and Tesla Lab as common locations. Bonds may also appear in other buildings, though reportedly less often. Treat these as reported locations, not guaranteed spawns: exact placements can vary or change with updates.
The wiki estimates about 100–130 Bonds per game for players who collect every Bond at every POI. This is a community estimate, not a guaranteed yield or an independently verified current rate; the actual amount can depend on spawns and game updates.

The community reference also reports Bonds for winning a run. Check the end-of-run screen for the reward currently offered. The available information does not establish a consistent time-to-reward comparison between finishing runs and searching POIs.

The Roblox game listing confirms the game’s platform presence but does not independently confirm current Bond purchase options or prices.
