Where Winds Meet has dozens of outfits and cosmetics that can be earned without directly buying them. The exact total depends on what counts as “free”: a June 29, 2026 catalog lists 48 free outfits, while another catalog lists 42. Those lists use different scopes for modular clothing pieces, events, free-currency shops and draw banners. The guide below uses the broader documented list and identifies rewards that are regional, time-limited or not currently guaranteed to be obtainable.
“Free” here means obtainable through gameplay, exploration, professions, achievements, shops using gameplay currencies, free event rewards, default unlocks or free tickets. It does not mean that every item is permanently available or that every draw can be completed without spending premium currency.

The following 48 entries are listed by the current broad catalog. Shop inventories, events and banners can change, so treat rotating rewards separately from permanent progression unlocks. Outfit names can also describe either a complete set or an individual clothing component.

How to earn the currencies and shop rewards
Season Shop and campaign cosmetics
Season Shop rewards such as Autumn Orchid, Blue Clouds and Enlightened Mind require Cosmetic Chests. Campaign-related rewards can use a similar progression loop: Chasing Red is tied to 520 Cosmetic Chests earned in Still Shore, while the detailed listing describes the reward as potentially including the outfit or hair rather than guaranteeing a specific item from every chest.
Sect shops
Sect outfits are purchased from the shop belonging to the relevant Sect. Documented examples include Blazing Midnight, Heavenly Frost, Lone Cloud, Mohist Hill, Ninefold Freedom, Raging Tides and Silent Current. Sect currencies can reportedly come from Jianghu Errands; the available guides also say that some currency may be earnable before formally joining a Sect, but the exact eligibility can depend on the live client.

Open the Social Shop and check the relevant tab rather than searching only the general outfit menu:

Professions, exploration and achievements
Profession rewards include Penstroke Posy from Scholar and Art of Healing from Healer. Exploration rewards include Sound of Valor at Qinghe Exploration Level 5, Opulent Grace at Kaifeng Exploration Level 5 and Whirl of Radiance through Hexi exploration. Achievement and challenge rewards include Bathrobe: Golden Threads, Forgotten Rags and the Foundation Trials reward Golden Wheel, although Golden Wheel is not confirmed for the global version.
Free hairstyles and other cosmetics
Free cosmetic rewards are not limited to complete outfits. Published lists also include individual tops and bottoms, accessories, weapon skins, mounts, emotes, titles and visual effects. These may appear in a separate wardrobe category or unlock alongside a named outfit rather than appearing as a new full set.

Basic hairstyles
- Choose one of hairstyles 1–12 during character creation.
- Visit the bronze mirror in Blissful Retreat.
- Brush your hair there. The remaining basic styles are reported to unlock in groups of two every two in-game days.
Unbound: Hair is listed as a reward from the permanent Solemn Echo banner. Named set hairstyles, including Crimson Curtain Hairstyle and Return of Spring Hairstyle, unlock with their associated set, shop or banner. Availability can therefore differ from the availability of the outfit itself.

What is no longer obtainable through old promotions?
Do not count expired promotions as active sources:
- The official WWMQC1 through WWMQC30 exchange codes expired on May 31, 2026, at 23:59 UTC+8. They should not be presented as working codes. Official announcement
- Fledglings of Spring / Into Hexi ran from February 6 through April 2, 2026, and its event page now says “Event Has Ended.” Its rewards included Headpiece – River Swallow and Blessed Meeting Badge. Official event page
- Pre-registration and beta rewards, including Swaying Lotus and Mountain Pine, may be permanently unavailable to players who did not qualify at the time.
How to redeem a current exchange code
Community reports currently place the PC redemption control at Menu → Settings → Other → Exchange Code or Exchange Codes. The wording is inconsistent, and an older unofficial guide gives a different route, so check the live client rather than relying on a fixed screenshot. Console labels may differ. The documented official code batch is expired, so only use a code announced as active by the game’s official channels.

Why a cosmetic may appear missing
- Late event tracking: refresh the event page if progress has not updated. The official event page said queried level data was final after refresh.
- Delayed mail: event rewards can arrive through in-game mail. Expired mail may not be reissued.
- Silent unlocks: some chapter, quest and progression rewards unlock without a prominent notification.
- Temporary wardrobe swaps: a story scene can force a different costume without changing your permanent wardrobe.
- Wrong item category: the same name can refer to a full set, a body entry or a single clothing piece.
- Invitation limits: the expired Fledglings event allowed one bound invitation code per player and capped successful bindings at 10 per inviter; self-invites and same-account mutual invites were not allowed.
Why different guides report different totals
The “42 versus 48” disagreement is mainly a scope problem, not proof that one number is universally correct. Guides may include or exclude modular body pieces, event-only items, regional versions, draw rewards obtainable with free tickets or items bought with currencies that can sometimes be earned without payment. The safest statement is that the June 2026 broad catalog documented 48 free outfits, while another January 2026 catalog documented 42 under a narrower or different definition. The total will also change as new seasons and events arrive.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can every outfit in the list be obtained right now?
No. Permanent progression and shop rewards may remain available, while event, pre-registration, beta-test and rotating banner rewards can be closed or unavailable on a particular server.
Does “free” mean no premium currency is ever involved?
Not necessarily. Some lists classify draw or shop rewards as free because they can use free tickets or gameplay-earned currency. Check the specific banner’s currency and rules.
Where do I find hairstyles that are not available at character creation?
Use the bronze mirror in Blissful Retreat and brush your hair; the remaining basic styles are reported to unlock over in-game time. Other named hairstyles are tied to their associated outfit, shop or banner.
