Silent Hill f has seven standard weapons, three Dark Shrine combat weapons, and two special weapons unlocked through later playthroughs. The route is split between ordinary story pickups, a hidden shrine route, and New Game+ requirements. The Lantern is also listed among Dark Shrine items, but it is a light source—not a combat weapon.

This gives you 12 combat weapons if the Lantern is excluded and the Sacred Sword’s purified form is counted as the same weapon, not a separate pickup. The broad area sequence below gives first locations rather than every later spawn: return trips and later runs can add or substitute pickups. Find the seven standard weapons
Standard weapons appear along the main Ebisugaoka route, with one first listed at the middle school. The first documented locations are:

- Steel Pipe: Ebisugaoka Part 1. It is the opening standard weapon.
- Sickle: Ebisugaoka Part 2: Crop Fields. There is also a later pickup in the Rice Field puzzle area.
- Baseball Bat: Ebisugaoka Part 3: To School.
- Sledgehammer: Ebisugaoka Middle School.
- Axe: Ebisugaoka Part 4: Forest.
- Crowbar: Ebisugaoka Part 4: Forest.
- Kitchen Knife: Ebisugaoka Part 5: To Shimizu Residence.
Additional documented spawns occur in Ebisugaoka, Shimizu Residence, and the Corridors, among other return areas. A New Game+ variant can replace the Steel Pipe by the Hokora with a Baseball Bat. The precise extra locations and conditions vary by area and return sequence, so do not assume the first-pickup route is a complete checklist of every spawn. Get the Dark Shrine weapons and Lantern
Kaiken
Approach the Inari Shrine on the Dark Shrine Path. The Kaiken is described as an automatic pickup after you reach the shrine.
Naginata
In the Dark Shrine Corridors, look for an altar in a room reached through a hidden corridor. Use the Inari Sculpture on a cabinet pedestal to reveal the route.
Fox Arm
The Fox Arm is obtained through story progression in the Dark Shrine Main Hall.

Lantern
The Lantern is found on the Dark Shrine Path, after leaving the Shrine Path Temple. It is a portable light source, not a weapon for combat.
Dark Shrine weapons are distinguished from standard weapons by not using the standard durability parameter, so they do not need repair. That exception does not apply to ordinary Ebisugaoka weapons.
Unlock the Sacred Sword in New Game+
On New Game+, collect five offerings and present them to the Jizo statues along the Ebisugaoka route, then reach the Divine Tree at the forgotten shrine. The offerings and statue sequence are:

For the first offering, win the Treasure Hunting Game, obtain the Balcony Key, inspect the dresser document for the Treasure Hunting Game Key, then take the Faded Bride Doll from the kitchen storage chest. The remaining offerings and their statues are found along the subsequent route. On New Game++, the offering puzzle is no longer required: the Sacred Sword is at the second Jizo statue in the Crop Fields.

What purification changes
The unpurified Sacred Sword restores its durability while sheathed. Completing the Crimson Water Puzzle in the Dark Shrine Main Hall during New Game+ enables purification at an old Oinari-sama shrine in the forest. Purification weakens the sword and removes its self-repair, so you must maintain it with toolkits. The guide identifies purification as required for Endings 2 and 4; this is an ending-progression condition, not another weapon pickup.

- Complete the Great Space Invasion/UFO ending.
- Start New Game+ from the save that has that ending.
- Interact with a Great Space Invasion poster. The poster near Chizuruya General Store is identified as the earliest opportunity.
- The UFO delivers the PP-8001.
The weapon’s length and strength scale with the number of endings on the clear save used to start that run.

Keep standard weapons from breaking
Standard weapons have a durability meter with high, medium, and low states. Enemy hits and blocks reduce durability. A rare toolkit repairs a standard weapon before it breaks and restores half its durability; if the meter reaches zero, the weapon is lost from your inventory. Repair your preferred weapon before the meter empties. The unpurified Sacred Sword is the exception because it restores itself while sheathed; after purification, it no longer does.
Choose a weapon by handling and availability
The available guidance describes weapon categories and mechanics, not a universal best weapon. Your practical choice depends on the handling and damage trade-off you prefer, how quickly you need to strike, the weapon’s durability, and whether you are on a first run, a return visit, or New Game+. The Sacred Sword’s self-repair before purification and the PP-8001’s scaling blade length are distinctive mechanics; they do not make either a guaranteed best choice for every difficulty or play style.
