Claim Diancite through Link Play → Mystery Gift → Get via Internet, finish the main story, then speak to Mimi at the Looker Bureau and complete the side mission “Shine Bright like a Gemstone.” The mission gives you Diancie; Diancite is the Mega Stone that lets it Mega Evolve into Mega Diancie.
Claim Diancite through Mystery Gift
The free gift is Diancite, an in-game item. The Pokémon Company says it can be claimed in both the physical and digital versions of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, including Pokémon Legends: Z-A – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition. The distribution began November 6, 2025; the official announcement gives no end date, so availability should not be assumed to be permanent. See the official game announcement.

- Connect your Nintendo Switch or Nintendo Switch 2 to the internet. The user profile must be linked to a Nintendo Account.
- In the game, open the main menu and select Link Play → Mystery Gift → Get via Internet. These are the official redemption steps from The Pokémon Company’s Diancite walkthrough.
- Save your game after receiving the gift.
- Check the satchel’s Mega Stones pocket to confirm Diancite is there. You need the item before you can play the Diancie side mission.
Mystery Gift becomes available after approximately one hour of play time, according to the official game page. That is only the wait to access Mystery Gift; it is separate from the requirement to complete the main story before starting the mission.

Use Diancite to Mega Evolve Diancie
Diancite is Diancie’s special Mega Stone; it is not the Pokémon itself. After the mission gives you Diancie, equip it with Diancite to Mega Evolve it into Mega Diancie. Mega Evolution is temporary, and the game’s general explanation says the Trainer wears a Key Stone while the Pokémon holds its Mega Stone. Read the official Mega Evolution overview for the mechanic.
