Fortnite’s December 2024 free-skin opportunities were time-limited. Winterfest presents, the free Battle Pass track and in-game challenges were the safest routes; Reboot Rally and a reported LEGO Fortnite promotion offered additional cosmetics with separate requirements. Winterfest 2024 ended on January 7, 2025, Reboot Rally ended on December 9, 2024, and the LEGO promotion was tied to a dated report, so none should be treated as claimable today without a current notice from Epic.
Which free-skin routes existed in December 2024?
| Route | Deadline or availability | Required activity | Reward type | External account link |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Winterfest 2024 Cabin | Available until January 7, 2025, at 9 AM ET | Open one present per day from the Cabin | Named outfits and other cosmetics, including Yulejacket, Santa Dogg and the Peppermint Paraglider | No separate account link stated |
| Free challenges and free Battle Pass track | Varied by the active season and track; no single December deadline was stated | Complete eligible in-game challenges and progress through free Battle Pass rewards | Free cosmetics; the exact items depend on the season | No separate account link stated |
| Reboot Rally | November 2–December 9, 2024, at 9 AM ET | Complete quests and bonus goals with eligible friends to earn points | In-game cosmetic rewards; the program did not promise a specific outfit in the cited description | No separate account link stated |
| LEGO Fortnite account-linking promotion | Reported in December 2024; current availability was not established | Link a LEGO account with an Epic account, subject to the promotion’s eligibility rules | Reported cosmetics included Explorer Emilie, Mr. Dappermint and a LEGO Fortnite reward set featuring Kahele Acorde | Yes—account linking was required |
Every date above is historical. If an event tab or reward is no longer visible in Fortnite, its deadline has passed; do not rely on old videos or code lists to try to recover it.

Winterfest Cabin: the main December holiday route
How it worked
- Launch Fortnite and reach the main lobby.
- Select the snowflake tab to enter the Winterfest Cabin.
- Choose the available present and open it. Winterfest provided a new present each day while the event was live.
Epic’s December 20, 2024 announcement said Winterfest 2024 ran through January 7, 2025, at 9 AM ET. Epic specifically identified the Yulejacket Outfit, Peppermint Paraglider and Santa Dogg Outfit among the Cabin contents. Because the event has ended, those presents cannot be newly opened unless Epic independently brings the rewards back.
Free challenges and the free Battle Pass track
Epic Support identifies ordinary in-game challenges and the free portion of the Battle Pass as legitimate ways to earn items without buying V-Bucks. The exact quests, tiers and cosmetics change with the active season, so open the current Quests and Battle Pass screens in Fortnite rather than following a December 2024 checklist.
#1 Best Overall
- Redeemable on accounts in the United States and in U.S. Dollars.
- Gift card must be redeemed at EpicGames.com/redeem. This gift card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly on a console device (PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, etc.)
- If you play Fortnite experiences on a console device, you need to link your Epic Games account to your console account(s) so items purchased at Fortnite.com/item-shop appear across all of your linked accounts
- Requires internet connection, valid Epic account and prior acceptance of the terms
- Redemption: Online
What to check in-game
- Look for quests that list a cosmetic reward or Battle Pass progress.
- Confirm that the reward appears on the free track, not only on a premium tier.
- Complete the stated objective before the season or quest timer expires.
- Claim the reward from the relevant quest or Battle Pass screen when required.
This route is repeatable across seasons in principle, but it does not guarantee a particular outfit. Availability depends on the current progression track.
Reboot Rally: a friend-based, expired program
Reboot Rally ran from November 2, 2024, through December 9, 2024, at 9 AM ET. Eligible players teamed with friends, completed the program’s quests and bonus goals, and accumulated points that unlocked cosmetic rewards.
Rank #2

Why it was different
- It required eligible friend participation rather than solo progression.
- Points came from the specified quests and bonus goals, not from entering a redeem code.
- The program window has closed, so its 2024 rewards are not currently claimable through the original event.
LEGO Fortnite linking: verify before attempting it
A December 10, 2024 MeriStation report described a promotion connecting LEGO Fortnite and Epic accounts. It reported free cosmetics including Explorer Emilie and Mr. Dappermint, and described Kahele Acorde in the LEGO Fortnite reward set.
That report was secondary and dated. Before linking anything, check the current Epic Games and LEGO Fortnite account pages for an active promotion, its region and age requirements, the exact reward list and its end date. Do not assume that a 2024 offer remains available merely because an old article or video still exists.
Rank #3
- An Epic Games account is required to redeem an Epic Games Store Card code
- If playing on a console platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch or Mobile) you need to link your Epic Games account to that gaming platform (one time) to redeem your gift card code
- The 16 digit code on the back of the card WILL NOT work if redeemed directly through your gaming platform (PlayStation Network, Xbox Live, Nintendo Switch, Mobile, etc.)
- Note: Nintendo devices do not support Fortnite Shared Wallet, so V-Bucks purchased using your account balance will not show up on your Nintendo device. However, if you purchase items in the web Item Shop — or another platform where you play Fortnite — those items will be available in your Locker across all platforms.
- Redemption: Online
How to tell a real free-skin offer from a scam
Epic says legitimate offers for Epic products or V-Bucks appear through the Epic Games Store, official Epic websites or Epic’s official social channels. Treat any site outside those channels as untrusted when it asks for your Epic login, payment details, recovery codes or an “unlock” fee.
Never use these shortcuts
- “Free V-Bucks generator” pages or apps
- Redeem-code lists with no official Epic announcement
- Account-selling or account-sharing links
- Off-platform login forms that imitate Epic
- Downloads claiming to unlock skins, V-Bucks or Battle Pass tiers
A genuine reward is delivered through Fortnite’s event, quest, Battle Pass or an explicitly announced official account-linking flow. If an offer cannot be verified on an official Epic channel, close it and do not enter your credentials.

What you can still do now
- Open Fortnite’s current Quests tab and complete any challenges that award cosmetics.
- Review the current Battle Pass and identify rewards on its free track.
- Check Epic’s official news and social channels for a newly announced event; do not treat Winterfest 2024, Reboot Rally 2024 or the reported LEGO promotion as active by default.
- Use only the in-game claim screen or an official Epic/LEGO account page when an account link is explicitly required.
