During Fortnite Battle Royale update v42.40, the most reliable reported way to find Honey Sprite is opening Pumpkin chests during Fortnitemares 2026. Also search ordinary chests, smash Pumpkin objects, and use an eligible Cheat Code if one is available in your match. Honey Sprite is seasonal loot, so there is no confirmed permanent map coordinate or guaranteed chest.
When Honey Sprite is available
Honey Sprite was reported added on October 15, 2026, with Fortnite Battle Royale update v42.40 as part of Fortnitemares 2026. Epic’s v42.40 listing describes the patch as adding “New loot to hack, new Sprites to befriend, Power Hours this weekend, and another round of quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.”

Epic announced Fortnitemares on October 1, 2026, covering Battle Royale, Horde Rush and Reload, alongside seasonal locations, outfits and accessories. Because Honey Sprite is tied to this seasonal content, its availability and loot sources can change when Epic rotates or ends the event.
Best ways to find Honey Sprite
1. Open Pumpkin chests first
Pumpkin chests are currently the strongest reported route. Prioritize areas with several chests so you can check more containers quickly, but do not treat any particular named location as permanent: the available information does not establish a guaranteed point of interest or a fixed chest coordinate.

2. Search ordinary chests
Regular chests are a secondary source. Continue opening them after checking Pumpkin chests, especially when your landing area has limited seasonal loot. Honey Sprite has a chance to appear rather than a confirmed 100-percent drop.
3. Smash Pumpkin objects
Destroy Pumpkin objects and inspect the loot they release. This world-object route can supplement chest searches when you see Pumpkins along your rotation, but it is not documented as a guaranteed spawn method.

4. Check eligible Cheat Codes
If the event makes a relevant in-game Cheat Code available, use it as an additional option. Codes can be limited by the current event rules, so a code that is unavailable in your match cannot be used to force Honey Sprite.

What Honey Sprite does
Honey Sprite gives your ranged-weapon damage a chance to spawn bees at the location where the shot hits. The effect is chance-based: published information does not provide a numeric activation probability. A hit therefore may not create bees every time, and the effect should not be planned as a guaranteed trigger for every attack.

Using the effect in a match
- Equip a ranged weapon after acquiring Honey Sprite.
- Deal damage and watch the impact location for the bee spawn effect.
- Use the effect as bonus pressure rather than relying on it for a guaranteed elimination or area denial.
If you cannot find one
- Confirm that you are playing during the active Fortnitemares 2026 content and that your game has updated to the relevant seasonal version.
- Start a fresh match and prioritize Pumpkin chests instead of searching one chest repeatedly.
- Open ordinary chests and smash Pumpkins encountered on the same route.
- Check whether an eligible Cheat Code is enabled in that match.
- Try again after a loot rotation or update. A failed search in one match does not establish that Honey Sprite has been removed.
Do not spend time hunting for a supposedly permanent coordinate: no authoritative fixed location has been established. Likewise, no official drop-rate percentage is currently published, so claims of an exact probability should be treated as unverified.
