Ordinary Mod items come from Mod Boxes in Operation Storm/Mashmak or from Mod Assembly; Custom Striker mod stats and Cloudpiercer parts use separate unlock routes. Choose the path that matches what you want.
Get ordinary Mods from Mod Boxes
Play Operation Storm, especially Mashmak, and look for Mod Boxes earned during matches. Open a box from your inventory to receive a random Mod matching that box’s rarity. These ordinary Mods are described as Mashmak-only, so they are distinct from the cross-mode Custom Striker stats below. The Mecha BREAK Wiki’s Mods overview documents the box and ordinary Mod mechanics.
Trade duplicate Mods for a higher rarity
Mod Assembly exchanges ten Mods of the same rarity plus Matrix Credits for one random Mod of the next rarity. You do not choose the resulting Mod. The community wiki lists these examples; check the Assembly screen in-game for current costs:

Official update notes say Synchro Nexus challenge completion rewards can include Mod Boxes. They do not specify a guaranteed quantity or drop chance, so treat this as another possible source rather than a dependable box per run. Mods can also be used in Synchro Nexus without being consumed. Official Mecha BREAK update notes describe these reward and usage rules.
Unlock Custom Striker mod stats through its archive
If you mean the mod stats associated with a Custom Striker, obtain that Striker’s archive from ACE RECRUITMENT. Unlocking and using the Custom Striker unlocks its corresponding mod stats as well; players who already own it receive those stats automatically. Apply them in STRIKER BAY → mod tab. Where Custom Striker stats work
Unlike ordinary Mods, these stats can be used with any Striker Design across Operation VERGE, Ace Arena, Mashmak, Synchro Nexus, Spectral Nexus, and Skirmish. Select or switch them during pre-battle preparation; they cannot be changed in combat. This is why “mods only work in Mashmak” is not accurate for every mod system: that restriction describes ordinary Mods, not these Custom Striker stats.

Cloudpiercer uses a separate appearance-part route rather than ordinary Mod Boxes. Collect all six of its Mod parts through its permanently open Targeted Supply to unlock the Mod preset. The supply uses keys available for direct purchase, or attempts exchanged for Corite. The official notes do not make this route interchangeable with ordinary Mod farming. Details are in the official update notes.

Which route should you use?
- Want ordinary Mod items? Play Operation Storm/Mashmak for Mod Boxes, then open them in inventory.
- Have ten duplicates and need a higher rarity? Use Mod Assembly, accepting that the result is random and checking its current Credit cost.
- Looking for another box source? Complete Synchro Nexus challenges; their rewards may include Mod Boxes, with no fixed amount established in the official notes.
- Want a Custom Striker’s mod stats? Unlock the corresponding archive through ACE RECRUITMENT, then equip stats in STRIKER BAY.
- Want Cloudpiercer’s preset? Collect all six parts from Cloudpiercer Targeted Supply.
