The reliable way to earn gems without codes is to use the reward systems built into the version you are playing: daily tasks or challenges, login rewards, stage clears, level rewards, and repeatable modes. ASTD X also lists AFK Portal time and rewards claimed from the Grand Elder; the original All Star Tower Defense (ASTD) has a different mix of Story, Infinite, Tower, and task-based routes.
First identify the game version. Gem amounts, reset schedules, unlock requirements, and even available menus can change, so treat the live task panel and reward screens as the authority. Do not rely on an old chart or wiki entry for a current payout.

Identify which All Star Tower Defense you are playing
“All Star Tower Defense” can refer to the original ASTD or the newer ASTD X. The two games should not be treated as having one shared gem guide.

Look at the title and menus on the game’s current Roblox page rather than following a video title alone. If the interface names the game ASTD X, use the ASTD X section below. ASTD X: non-code gem sources
The ASTD X gem documentation lists several ways to earn gems without entering codes. The documentation does not establish dependable current yields or reset times, so check the amount displayed in your own reward panel.
Complete daily challenges and tasks
Open the task or challenge panel as soon as you enter. Read the exact objective, progress counter, expiration or reset information, and the reward preview. Daily objectives are useful because they can be repeated on a schedule, but the available objectives and their rewards may change.
- Record which objectives are already partly complete before starting a new activity.
- Choose a stage or mode that advances more than one visible objective at the same time.
- Return to the panel after the objective reaches its target and use the claim control if one is shown.
- Check that the gem balance changes after claiming; a completed objective is not always the same as a claimed reward.
If the panel shows no gem reward, complete the objective only when it also serves another goal. Do not assume every daily task pays gems directly; some may advance a separate reward track.

Claim the daily login reward
ASTD X lists daily login rewards as a gem route. Open the login-reward screen on each play session and claim the item that is available for that day. The current calendar, streak rules, and whether a missed day changes the sequence must be read from the live screen, because those details are not established here.
Make login collection a separate step from gameplay. If you close the game before claiming a displayed reward, the next session may be the first opportunity to collect it, depending on how the current calendar works.
Clear stages
Beating stages is listed as a direct gem source in ASTD X. Select a stage whose reward preview explicitly includes gems, if the current interface provides one, and finish the run. The amount can depend on the stage or current event, so use the result screen rather than an old guide as your record.

For repeat runs, compare the time required with the gem reward shown by the game. A harder stage is not automatically better for your account if it fails often or takes substantially longer. A reliable clear that also advances daily tasks can be the more practical choice.
Spend time in the AFK Portal
The ASTD X gem page lists AFK Portal time as a source. Enter the portal through the current menu, confirm what activity the game considers eligible time, and read any timer or progress indicator. The documentation does not verify whether the portal must remain open, whether progress continues while disconnected, or how frequently it pays.
Before leaving the portal, note the displayed start time, target, and claim location. When you return, check the portal screen and your balance. If no progress appears, review the portal’s own requirements rather than assuming the timer is broken.
Collect level-up rewards from the Grand Elder
ASTD X lists level-up rewards claimed from the Grand Elder. After leveling, visit the Grand Elder and inspect the dialogue or reward panel for an available claim. Leveling itself and collecting the reward can be separate actions.
Do not spend time grinding solely for a level reward until you confirm that the next level is eligible and that the Grand Elder is offering a claim. The live panel is the only dependable place to see the current requirement and payout.
Play Infinite Mode when its reward chart supports your goal
ASTD X Infinite Mode is an endless-wave mode with a documented gem reward chart. The current chart, wave thresholds, and conditions were not verified, so treat any number circulating in a community guide as provisional. Open the mode’s reward information before committing to a long run.

Use Infinite Mode when it also advances a task or when the displayed reward justifies the time and difficulty for your account. End a run according to the mode’s current rules and verify the reward on the result screen.
Original ASTD: non-code gem sources
Search results for the original game identify tasks, Story Mode, Infinite Mode, Tower Mode, and daily rewards as gem-related routes. They are version-specific leads, not guarantees that every menu or payout remains unchanged.
Check tasks before choosing a mode
Open the original ASTD task panel and look for objectives that award gems or contribute to a gem-paying task. A separate Infinite Mode result connects that mode with damage-task rewards, so damage objectives may be advanced during a suitable run. Verify the exact wording in your current task list.

Do not infer that ordinary victories satisfy a damage task unless the counter moves.
Clear Story Mode stages
Story Mode is listed among the original ASTD gem routes. Select a stage whose current reward display shows gems or a relevant task contribution. Story clears can be one-time or repeatable depending on the stage and the game’s current design; the interface should tell you whether a completed stage still offers a reward.
When a stage stops paying a direct gem reward, it may still be useful if it advances a task. Check both the stage result and the task panel before repeating it.

Use Infinite Mode for waves and task progress
Infinite Mode is listed as a route in original ASTD, and available information also associates it with damage-task rewards. Before starting, inspect the mode’s current reward information and your task counters. Endless modes can take longer than a single story clear, so choose them when the visible reward or task progress matches your objective.

Because no current reward schedule is established, do not use an old wave-to-gem table to calculate an hourly rate. Record what your own result screen awards if you want to compare runs later.
Check Tower Mode
Tower Mode appears in the original ASTD route list. Open its reward panel and confirm whether the current tower, floor, or completion condition pays gems. Requirements and rewards may differ from Story or Infinite Mode, and an older guide may describe a tower that is no longer available.
Collect daily rewards
Daily rewards are also listed for original ASTD. Visit the daily-reward screen each session, claim the available item if a button is present, and note any displayed streak or calendar rule. Do not assume the original game uses the same calendar as ASTD X.
A practical daily routine without codes
Use this routine for either version, adapting each step to the menus that actually exist in your game.
- Confirm the version. Check the game title and current interface before following any route.
- Collect login rewards. Open the daily-reward screen and claim the item shown as available.
- Read every active task. Note gem rewards, progress counters, deadlines, and objectives that can overlap.
- Check level and NPC claims. In ASTD X, visit the Grand Elder after an eligible level-up and collect any displayed reward.
- Choose the next activity from the reward screen. Pick a stage, Story run, Infinite run, Tower run, or daily challenge only when its current panel shows a relevant payout or task contribution.
- Use AFK Portal time in ASTD X when appropriate. Confirm the timer and eligibility rules, then return to the portal to check progress.
- Claim completed objectives. Reopen the task panel after a run and use each available claim control.
- Verify the balance. Compare the gem total before and after the claim or result screen. If it did not change, investigate before repeating the activity.
How to choose between routes
There is no verified universal “best” method. The right choice depends on what your live game offers, your account’s unlocks, and how reliably you can finish an activity.

For a short session, claim the login reward and finish the easiest active task that displays gem progress. For a longer session, select a stage or mode that advances several objectives. In ASTD X, add AFK Portal time only after confirming how the current timer works.
How to avoid wasting runs
Use visible rewards, not old numbers
Gem yields and reset times are not reliably established for the current versions. A video or wiki table can be outdated after a balance change. Treat the number on the live reward panel as authoritative for that session.
Separate direct rewards from task rewards
A stage or mode can be valuable because it pays gems immediately, because it advances a task, or both. Check the result screen and task counter separately so you know which system produced the increase.
Claim before leaving
Completed tasks, daily rewards, and Grand Elder rewards may use a separate claim step. Reopen each relevant panel before quitting and look for an unclaimed item.
Stop when the activity no longer contributes
If a task counter stops moving or a stage’s reward preview no longer includes gems, switch activities. Repeating a familiar run without checking its current reward is a common source of wasted time.
Troubleshooting missing or unchanged gems
- The gem total did not change: Check whether the reward is waiting behind a Claim button, NPC interaction, or result screen.
- A task shows complete but pays nothing: Reopen the task panel, confirm the objective is fully complete, and look for a separate collection step.
- Mode progress is missing: Confirm that you played the correct version and mode, then check whether the objective required a specific condition such as damage rather than a victory.
- AFK Portal time is not progressing: Read the portal’s current eligibility and timer instructions. The available documentation does not establish whether progress continues while disconnected.
- A guide promises a reward you cannot find: Treat the live game as authoritative. Menus, calendars, and reward charts can change, and an old guide may describe another version.
- The route is locked: Read the unlock message and use an available daily, stage, or task route instead of guessing the requirement.
What not to count as a no-code method
This guide excludes code redemption by design. It also does not treat market purchases as earning gems through gameplay. If a screen offers a purchase instead of a play-based reward, it is outside the no-code, gameplay-focused routes covered here.
Bottom line for building a gem routine
Identify ASTD or ASTD X first, then work from the current reward panels. Claim daily rewards, complete visible tasks, clear stages or modes that show a gem payout or advance a gem-paying objective, and collect any level-up or AFK Portal reward available in ASTD X. Because current amounts, reset schedules, and unlock rules are not reliably established across versions, measure each route by what your live game displays rather than by an old chart.
