How S.P.E.C.S. points are earned
The five categories are Smarts, Poise, Empathy, Charm, and Sass. Each Dateable belongs to a category, and reaching any of that Dateable’s three main endings—Love, Friendship, or Hate—adds five points to its category, according to the wiki.

That makes route completion the practical way to build a stat. Individual dialogue choices are not described as awarding points; the reported reward arrives when the route reaches an ending. The wiki lists 20 base-game Dateables per category, or a potential 100 points in each. That figure is for the base game and does not establish how DLC characters affect the cap.
How to raise a specific category
- Choose the category you want to increase: Smarts, Poise, Empathy, Charm, or Sass.
- Complete routes with Dateables assigned to that category. Each ending is reported to award five points to the corresponding category.
- Choose the ending that suits your playthrough. Love, Friendship, and Hate are reported to give the same S.P.E.C.S. reward.
- Check your category total as you progress. Replaying dialogue or changing individual choices is not the reported way to earn additional points; route completion is.
The available mechanics information does not establish a fastest character order or quickest route, so there is no supported speedrun path to recommend.

Do S.P.E.C.S. checks block a route ending?
Some dialogue and optional content use S.P.E.C.S. checks, so a low stat can affect which conversations or extras are available. However, the wiki reports that Love, Friendship, and Hate endings remain achievable regardless of your point total. Treat a stat check as a gate for that particular dialogue or optional content, not as a general requirement for finishing the Dateable’s main route.
What happens at 40 points?
At 40 points in a category, you can qualify for its matching Rare Candy through Keith’s crawlspace/attic sequence. The wiki says you must also make the required progression and talk to Keith about yourself; reaching 40 points alone is not the whole process. Each candy corresponds to its category and can reset a Hate route for an eligible Dateable. See the Rare Candy information for the item details.

Do points carry into New Game+?
The wiki reports that earned S.P.E.C.S. points carry forward into New Game+. The cited mechanics are community-maintained; the available information does not confirm whether the June 2026 Self Care update changed point awards, thresholds, or descriptions.
