Earn SDU tokens in Borderlands 4 by completing activities and finding collectibles across Kairos. For a faster start, prioritize high-yield activities such as Safehouses, Order Silos and Ancient Crawlers; pick up smaller collectible rewards as you explore. The amounts below come from third-party guides, not an official Gearbox reward table, so check your in-game progress and keep the game updated.
Where SDU tokens come from
SDU tokens are earned through world activities and collectibles. Spend them on Storage Deck Upgrade improvements, including backpack and ammunition capacity. Maurice’s Black Market Machine is described by 2K as a loot activity; its announcement does not say that it awards SDU tokens, so it is not a supported token-farming option. 2K’s roadmap announcement

What to prioritize for a quicker sweep
Mobalytics suggests this order: Ancient Crawler, Order Silo, Safehouse, Ripper Drill Site, then Order Bunker or Abandoned Auger Mine. Treat it as that guide’s route recommendation, not a verified speed ranking: the sources do not provide completion-time tests. Your best next target also depends on travel, combat, and whether the activity is still available in your current progression.
Check patches and progression before following old advice
Gearbox’s Version 1.6 notes, dated April 30, 2026, say the Ancient Crawler activity “now gives out the intended amount of SDU tokens.” Because the payout has been corrected in a patch, update the game before relying on older farming guidance, and verify rewards in the game. Gearbox’s March 26, 2026 Story Pack 1 update notes list SDU tokens under “Shared Character Progression.” That means older claims about whether tokens or related progress are character-specific may no longer describe the current behavior; check the progression screens for your save.
