Catch Nickit, then use 50 Nickit Candy to evolve it into Thievul. A third-party availability snapshot collected on October 7, 2026 lists Nickit in the wild and as a Field Research reward, but Pokémon GO encounter pools rotate, so check what is currently available in your game.
Where to find Nickit
Nickit is the Pokémon you need to catch first. Snack Nap’s October 7, 2026 availability snapshot lists it in wild encounters and as a Field Research reward. Treat that as a dated guide rather than a guarantee: the page warns that data for the same day may be incomplete, and availability can vary as encounter pools change.
- Check wild Pokémon appearing around you.
- Look at the rewards for available Field Research tasks; the reward pool can rotate.
- Watch official Pokémon GO announcements for any newly announced event that increases Nickit encounters.
Nickit also appeared in the wild and 7 km Eggs during the Deep Depths event from March 19–24, 2025, local time. That was an event-specific Egg pool, not evidence that Nickit is currently available from Eggs. The Pokémon GO Deep Depths announcement confirmed Nickit’s debut and its evolution cost.
How to evolve Nickit into Thievul
- Catch Nickit and collect 50 Nickit Candy.
- Select Nickit in your Pokémon storage and tap the in-game Evolve control.
- Confirm the evolution to receive Thievul.
The Pokémon GO team states that you can use 50 Nickit Candy to evolve Nickit into Thievul. Candy is specific to a Pokémon Evolution family, according to the Pokémon GO Help Center. Catching additional Nickit is one way to build the Candy you need; a Pinap Berry can help earn more Candy from a catch.

What the past Community Day offered
Nickit Community Day took place on August 16, 2026, from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. local time. Nickit appeared more frequently in the wild, and evolving Nickit during the event or within four hours afterward awarded a Thievul that knew Icy Wind. That opportunity has ended; it is not a current bonus. The official Nickit Community Day announcement describes the event and its limited evolution window.
The announcement does not establish whether Icy Wind can be obtained by another method after that window, so its present availability through other means is uncertain. The event also offered optional paid Special Research; it was not required to catch Nickit or evolve it, and no paid item is needed for the standard evolution.
