The fastest reliable ways to get Primogems in Genshin Impact are to claim all four Daily Commission rewards, complete limited-time events, clear available Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater rewards before their resets, and use redeemable promotional codes before they expire. Newer accounts can add a large one-time supply through quests, exploration, chests, achievements, Waypoints, and Domains.
There is no single permanent total for Primogems: rewards change by quest, event, version, and activity. Use the routine below to collect the repeatable sources first, then clear temporary and unexplored content.

Daily Commissions are the essential Primogem routine. Complete the available commissions, then claim the commission rewards from the appropriate interface. You can also use Encounter Points to claim commission rewards without completing the corresponding commissions.

Encounter Points come from eligible in-game activities. Once you have enough, they can be used for up to four commission rewards per day. They do not remove the daily four-reward limit; they simply provide an alternative way to claim those rewards.
How Encounter Points work
- Use Encounter Points to claim up to four Daily Commission rewards each day.
- Encounter Points earned after that daily limit become Long-Term Encounter Points.
- Long-Term Encounter Points do not reset with Daily Commissions.
- Each 30 Original Resin spent allows one Daily Commission reward to be claimed with Long-Term Encounter Points.
That makes Encounter Points particularly useful when you are already completing quests, events, or other activities. Check the official Encounter Points explanation for the current rules.
Do not rely on a specific commission appearing
Setting a preferred region does not guarantee a particular Daily Commission. Commissions are selected randomly from the available pool. Some desired commissions also require related World Quests, earlier commission chapters, or particular dialogue choices before they can appear. If you are pursuing an achievement or story chain, complete its prerequisites first, but expect that the commission itself may still take time to show up. Limited-time events are among the best temporary Primogem opportunities. Their rewards and claim conditions vary, so open the event menu and check each event’s tasks, stages, and deadline rather than assuming every event pays the same amount.
Prioritize event objectives that expire first. Some activities unlock in stages, while others require completing an introductory quest before their reward pages become available. Claim rewards as soon as you qualify; do not wait until the final day if the event has multiple menus or currencies.

3. Clear Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater before reset
These are the main recurring endgame activities to check around the monthly reset cycle. The current official schedule is:
- Imaginarium Theater: resets on the 1st day of each month.
- Spiral Abyss: refreshes on the 16th day of each month.
Unclaimed Spiral Abyss and Imaginarium Theater rewards do not carry over after the cycle refreshes. Finish the content and claim the rewards before the relevant reset, even if you cannot complete every available stage.

The exact reward tables can change. Avoid treating older guides’ fixed totals as permanent, especially claims that Imaginarium Theater always awards a particular number of Primogems. For the current schedule and reward-reset rules, see HoYoverse’s official support page.
Which should you prioritize?
- Strong, optimized teams: Try Spiral Abyss first, then complete as much Imaginarium Theater as your roster allows.
- Broad roster with many built characters: Imaginarium Theater may be the more practical target.
- Newer account: Do not neglect permanent exploration and quests while building characters for endgame.
4. Explore regions and open permanent rewards
Exploration produces Primogems through chests and by unlocking Waypoints and Domains. It is especially valuable on a new account because large areas may still contain unopened rewards.
For efficient exploration, unlock nearby Waypoints and Domains first, then work through one region or subregion systematically. Complete puzzles, local challenges, and world activities as you encounter them instead of rushing past them. Exploration rewards are mostly finite, but they remain available when you need a break from daily or endgame content.

5. Complete Archon, Story, and World Quests
Archon Quests, Story Quests, and World Quests can all award Primogems. Rewards vary by quest, so there is no universal amount that applies to every mission.
Archon Quests are a sensible priority for progression because they unlock areas and systems. World Quests can be particularly valuable for opening exploration routes, resolving region-specific puzzles, and revealing additional content. Check the quest reward preview where available, but remember that some rewards arrive during a chain rather than at its first step.
6. Finish Achievements while playing
The Achievements list contains Primogem rewards for completing specific objectives. Some are earned naturally through exploration, combat, quests, and progression; others require deliberate actions or unusual conditions.
Use the list to identify unfinished objectives that match what you are already doing. Achievement hunting can be worthwhile when you have exhausted nearby chests and quests, but it is usually less efficient to abandon valuable event or reset content solely to chase a difficult single objective.
7. Redeem promotional codes quickly
Livestream and collaboration codes can provide Primogems, but they are temporary. Livestream codes may expire within about a day, so redeem them as soon as possible rather than saving them for later.

Official website method
- Open the official Genshin Impact redemption page.
- Sign in to the correct HoYoverse account and select the correct server and character if prompted.
- Enter the code and redeem it.
- Open the in-game mailbox and claim the reward.
HoYoverse’s official instructions specify the redemption website. A current code guide also reports this in-game route: open the menu, go to Settings → Account → Redeem Now, enter the code, and collect the reward from in-game mail. Livestream code redemption may require Adventure Rank 10 according to that guide.
A successful redemption does not necessarily add Primogems directly to the visible balance. Check the mailbox. In-game mail expires automatically, and HoYoverse states that expired mail and its attachments cannot be restored. Never leave redeemed rewards unclaimed.
8. Check in-game mail
HoYoverse may distribute Primogems through in-game mail, including code rewards, event rewards, and other distributions. Make checking the mailbox part of your routine after redeeming a code or completing a promotion.
Claim attachments before the mail expires. If an attachment is lost because the mail expired, HoYoverse says it cannot be recovered. The relevant currency and mail policies are summarized in the official explanations of Genshin Impact’s currencies and expired in-game mail.
9. Spend money through Genesis Crystals, not direct Primogem purchases
Primogems cannot be purchased directly. The paid currency is Genesis Crystals, which convert to Primogems at a 1:1 ratio. Genesis Crystal bundles are available through the in-game shop or the Official Top-up Page.

Welkin Moon warning
If you use Blessing of the Welkin Moon, its daily 90 Primogems must be claimed by logging in each day. Missing a day forfeits that day’s Primogems; the 30-day duration is not extended and the missed amount cannot be recovered. The initial 300 Genesis Crystals are unaffected. Treat Welkin as a login commitment, not as a bank of automatically recoverable daily rewards. See HoYoverse’s current Welkin explanation.
Be careful with refunds
Refunding a transaction can automatically deduct the associated in-game currency and may leave your account with a negative balance. HoYoverse says the balance must be restored to at least zero within the period shown in the refund-related mail. Review the official negative currency balance guidance before taking action.
The fastest routine for most players
- Log in and claim four commission rewards, using commissions or Encounter Points.
- Check active events and complete objectives approaching their deadlines.
- Check the mailbox for rewards and claim anything near expiration.
- Check the monthly endgame activities, especially before the 1st and 16th reset dates.
- Redeem new codes immediately through the official redemption page.
- Use spare playtime on quests and exploration, prioritizing content that unlocks new areas or systems.
- Review Achievements for objectives that overlap with your current activities.
Best strategy by account type
New accounts
Focus on Archon and World Quests, unlocking Waypoints and Domains, opening chests, completing events, and collecting achievements. There is no official universal total for the Primogems available to a new account because the reward depends on which regions, quests, and events are accessible and unfinished.

Returning players
Start with time-sensitive events and the next Spiral Abyss or Imaginarium Theater reset. Then review unfinished quests and unexplored regions; these permanent sources can provide a large backlog of rewards without relying on a particular daily commission appearing.
