To encounter Rayquaza in Pokémon Ultra Sun, travel through a red Ultra Wormhole to Ultra Space Wilds while both Kyogre and Groudon are in your party. Rayquaza appears at level 60. Because Kyogre is the version-specific wormhole encounter in Ultra Moon, you must bring a Kyogre from outside Ultra Sun.
What you need before searching
- Access to the Ultra Warp Ride, unlocked after the story trip through the Ultra Wormhole to Ultra Megalopolis.
- Kyogre and Groudon together in your active party.
Ultra Sun lists Groudon as its version-specific wormhole encounter, while Kyogre is listed for Ultra Moon. The reference sources establish the party requirement, but do not specify how Kyogre must be obtained. Bring one from outside Ultra Sun; do not expect to catch it in an Ultra Sun wormhole. How to find Rayquaza
- After unlocking the Ultra Warp Ride, make sure both Kyogre and Groudon are in your party.
- Ride into a red Ultra Wormhole, which can take you to the relevant Ultra Space Wilds area.
- Explore Ultra Space Wilds to encounter Rayquaza. The listed encounter is level 60.

Why Kyogre is the sticking point in Ultra Sun

Since Rayquaza’s encounter condition calls for both Pokémon, an Ultra Sun player needs to obtain Kyogre outside that game version and have it in the party alongside Groudon before entering the red wormhole.
