In Manor Lords, you can build Regional Wealth by upgrading Burgage Plots, exporting surplus goods at a Trading Post, or assigning a defeated bandit camp’s reward to Regional Wealth. Use the money for imports, livestock, and plot extensions; it is separate from Treasury, which pays for lord-level expenses.
Three ways to earn Regional Wealth
Upgrade Burgage Plots for recurring income
Once a plot reaches level 2, each family living there generates 1 Regional Wealth per month. At level 3, each family generates 2 per month. The level 3 upgrade costs 25 Regional Wealth, so it takes an upfront investment before the higher monthly income begins. These figures are listed on the Manor Lords Official Wiki’s Buildings page; the game is in Early Access, and its information may change.
Export surplus goods through a Trading Post
Build a Trading Post, choose the item you want to trade, then set its Trade Rule to export. Each item defaults to “No Trade,” so building the post alone does not start sales. The Official Wiki recommends trade routes for reliably selling resources; some higher-tier goods, including tools and weapons, require their corresponding Trade Route before they can be traded.
Export only what your settlement can spare. Goods sent out may be needed for local production, construction, or other needs, and the best item to sell depends on what you have and its current market price. Marketplace stalls are not a substitute for Trading Post exports: the cited guidance identifies the Trading Post as the route for trade income.
#1 Best Overall
Assign bandit-camp rewards to Regional Wealth
When you defeat a bandit camp, you can choose where its reward goes. Assign it to Regional Wealth to send the money to the nearest settled region. This gives you a lump sum rather than recurring income.
How to choose the right method
| Method | How it pays | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| Burgage Plot upgrades | Recurring monthly income per family at plot level 2 or 3 | Requires resources to develop plots; level 3 costs 25 Regional Wealth to upgrade. |
| Trading Post exports | Income from goods you sell | Requires a Trade Rule, and some goods also need a Trade Route. Exporting reduces the stock available to your settlement. |
| Bandit-camp reward | One-time lump sum assigned to the nearest settled region | Available when a camp is defeated; choose Regional Wealth as the reward destination. |
Use whichever option fits your current situation: sell genuine surplus if you have it, invest in plot upgrades when you can afford the cost, and take a bandit reward as Regional Wealth when a camp falls. The available guidance does not establish one universally best good to export.

What Regional Wealth pays for—and how it differs from Treasury
Regional Wealth belongs to the region’s villagers. It can fund imports, livestock purchases, and Burgage Plot backyard extensions. Treasury is the lord’s personal money, used for mercenaries, the retinue, and settling regions. Manor land tax converts some Regional Wealth into Treasury, so tax income depends on households having Regional Wealth in the first place.
The Official Wiki gives example prices, not guaranteed current rates: early resources may sell for 1–4 Regional Wealth, imports tend to cost around 18 before development upgrades, an ox costs 20, and a vegetable garden extension costs 15. Check the in-game market before making a budget; prices can vary, and the consulted guidance does not establish current build-specific prices.

Set up a Trading Post export
- Build a Trading Post in the region where you want to trade.
- Select the good you intend to sell.
- Change that good’s Trade Rule from the default “No Trade” to an export rule.
- If the item is a higher-tier good such as tools or weapons, establish its corresponding Trade Route if required.
- Check the quoted price and your remaining local stock before committing goods to export.
The Manor Lords Official Wiki’s Regional Wealth page describes a trade route as the best way to start reliably selling resources for Regional Wealth. Exact prices and balance can change, so rely on the current in-game market for a particular transaction.
