Sinistea’s two confirmed event routes
Niantic’s November 27, 2024 event announcement listed Sinistea in one-star raids and said that completing the Collection Challenge would earn an encounter with it. The announcement does not provide encounter odds, the Collection Challenge task list, or enough information to compare the effort involved.

When the event ran—and what that means now
The event ran from Tuesday, December 3, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. through Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Because that event window is over, its raid lineup and Collection Challenge are historical rather than current ways to obtain Sinistea.

Were Timed Research or Field Research confirmed Sinistea sources?
No specific Sinistea reward from either research type was confirmed in the announcement. Timed Research offered XP, Stardust, and encounters with event-themed Pokémon; Field Research tasks offered Stardust and event-themed Pokémon encounters. Neither description identifies a Sinistea task or guarantees a Sinistea encounter, so those broad reward descriptions should not be treated as a third confirmed route.
What else was happening during Just My Cup of Tea?
The event’s wider lineup can help explain what trainers encountered, but these Pokémon and bonuses were not additional stated methods for obtaining Sinistea.

- Wild encounters: Slowpoke, Taillow, Slakoth, Duskull, Starly, and Greavard appeared more frequently.

- Other raids: One-star raids also featured male and female Frillish. Three-star raids featured Galarian Mr. Mime, Hisuian Braviary, and Bombirdier; Genesect (Chill Drive) appeared in five-star raids, and Mega Banette in Mega Raids.
- Event bonuses: Raids had 2× friendship bonus damage, and completing raids awarded 50% more Stardust.
What Sinistea evolves into
Sinistea evolves into Polteageist for 50 Sinistea Candy. That evolution cost is stated in Niantic’s 2024 event announcement; it does not indicate that the event encounter routes remain available.
