During the event, the documented ways to encounter Tandemaus were event-themed Field Research, free Timed Research, and a chance-based Party Play encounter. The official announcement did not list Tandemaus as an increased wild spawn or give encounter odds.
How Tandemaus encounters worked during the event
Niantic’s Ultra Unlock: Better Together announcement described three routes to Tandemaus. It did not identify a guaranteed route or provide probabilities, so there is no supported basis for ranking them by speed or reliability.

Was Tandemaus available in the wild?
The event announcement did not include Tandemaus in its list of Pokémon with increased wild appearances. It listed other Pokémon, including Vulpix and regional forms, Diglett and regional forms, Meowth and regional forms, Exeggcute, Wooper and Paldean Wooper, Zigzagoon and Galarian Zigzagoon, Combee, and Binacle. Tandemaus was instead mentioned in the Field Research and Timed Research details and as a possible Party Play encounter.

When did the event run?
Ultra Unlock: Better Together ran from Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. until Monday, July 22, 2024, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Those event-specific research opportunities have ended. The announcement documents that 2024 event only; it does not establish whether Tandemaus is available through any current encounter source.

How to evolve Tandemaus into Maushold
The event announcement states that evolving Tandemaus into Maushold costs 50 Tandemaus Candy. It does not describe a special event-only evolution condition.
Event bonuses were limited to the event window
Trainers received 4× Catch XP and 2× Catch Candy during the event. These were temporary bonuses tied to the July 17–22, 2024 event window, not current benefits.
