In GTA 5 Story Mode on Xbox One, enter Right, A, Right, Left, Right, RB, Right, Left, A, Y during play to activate the invincibility cheat. You can also dial 1-999-724-654-5537 on the in-game phone. The effect lasts five minutes, so “God Mode” here means temporary invincibility—not a permanent setting.

Enter the controller sequence during play, or open the in-game phone and dial the number. These are two ways to activate the same cheat, not different levels of protection.
What the cheat does—and how long it lasts
The invincibility effect lasts five minutes, according to the guides from GTA Base and Vandal. GTA Base says you can reactivate it after the timer ends. It is therefore a temporary survival aid, not permanent God Mode.

Where it works and important caveats
- Story Mode: The cheat is intended for single-player Story Mode.
- GTA Online: The guides report that this built-in cheat does not work in GTA Online.
- Missions: GTA Base says the code cannot be activated during missions.
- Achievements: Vandal reports that activating cheats temporarily disables achievements for the current play session and recommends making a manual save first. Treat that as guide-reported behavior; the sources available do not establish official confirmation.
Does GTA 5 have permanent God Mode on Xbox One?
The documented built-in option is the five-minute invincibility cheat above. “God Mode” is commonly used as shorthand for that effect, but it should not be taken to mean the game offers permanent invulnerability through this code. Glitches or exploits are a separate subject, and the cited guides do not establish a permanent method.

The Xbox One sequence is consistent across the platform-specific GameFAQs code list and the guides from Vandal and GTA Base. Vandal’s guide is listed as updated September 5, 2026. These are secondary game guides; an official Rockstar or Xbox confirmation of this particular code is not established by those sources.
