To get the Aurora mutation on crops in Grow a Garden, leave the crops you want to mutate growing and exposed during Aurora Borealis weather. Community references also report a second chance through Crystal Beams. Neither route guarantees Aurora, and there is no confirmed event timetable.
How to get Aurora on crops
- Keep your target crops growing and exposed. The reported routes apply mutations to crops during weather events, so have the plants you want affected available while the event is active.
- Watch for Aurora Borealis. Community references describe it as neon purple, pink, and blue waves in the sky, with an appearance resembling Night. During the event, crops have a chance to receive Aurora; it is not guaranteed.
- Use Crystal Beams if it starts. Activate all eight crystals around the map by clicking each five times. The event reference says crops may then receive several known mutations, including Aurora. This is an additional reported opportunity, not a guaranteed application.
- Check the crops afterward. Aurora crops are described as shifting between blue and purple, with faint smoke and a purplish-white glow.
These routes come from community-maintained references, not official game documentation. Event mechanics and availability can change, and no official current schedule or event probability is established.
Which weather route should you try?

Because the references provide no comparative odds, neither route can be called faster or more reliable. Do not plan around a specific login time: “every few hours” is only a community-reported frequency, not a schedule.
Aurora mutation value
Community mutation tables list Aurora at a x90 value multiplier. A separate community table associates that figure with Aurora Borealis weather, but no official source or live-game verification establishes the current multiplier. Treat x90 as a reported value that may change, not a guaranteed current payout.

Crop Aurora is not pet Aurora
